Sony and Nintendo will catch up to 360 by the end of the year

Being the only next gen console out I expected the Xbox 360 to sell more then 10 million but th fact is most 360's are sitting in store shelves gathering dust because yeah Microsoft has sold 10 million but to retailers and definitely not to customers.

Microsoft will only be supplying 2 million consoles from now till June because there are SO MANY 360's sitting on shelves since they over delivered trying to fulfil their promise while PS3 is selling at a good rate which will increase next month because of so many good games getting released plus the European Launch . Nintendo Wii is soaring ahead and wil surely increase once fantastic titles like Mario Galaxy, SSBB and Metroid come out. GO NINTENDO :D

I expect that by June PS3 would have sold half of what 360 has sold and by the end of the year Sony/Nintendo would closed the gap between 360 and PS3 sales. Next year PS3 and Wii will overtake 360 guaranteed, you can quote me on that

I doubt PS3 will catch up by the end of this year. Wii obviously will.
People seem to forget a little game called Halo 3 that is coming out by Q4 of this year. And no not all current 360 owners were Xbox owers or owners who are gonna buy Halo 3. Denying that Halo 3 will sell systems is idiotic and fanboy logic. I think right now the 360 has hit a slow down for games coming out IMO as I am not interested in Lost Planet or Crackdown. But I would say at about April is when things go back on track with Bioshock coming out then May with Mass Effect and more and more from there will come out

In March PS3 would have came out in Europe and alot of fantastic games would be out; like VF5, MotorStorm, Lair, Heavenly Sword etc etc etc. There is already phenomenal demand in Europe for PS3 and the demand will increase in Japan and America dew to the amazing games.

Scratch off Heavenly Sword and Lair from the EU launch.  They've both been pushed back to May and June.

Japan. If PS3 keeps selling close to 360 and it still sells well in Japan and Europe it can easily past 360 since 360 is non existent in Japan.

This is all hypothetical at this point. It's kind of pointless in reality.

All we have right now is the numbers available to us right now. The Xbox 360 has been selling at a very good rate since it was launched. The Wii has also been selling at a very good rate (only being eclipsed in sales over the christmas time by the 360) as of lately. The PS3 has been selling pretty well for a $600 console in all honesty. In reality, the PS3 and Wii hype will slow down as time goes by. The 360 will most likely have a price drop this year, which will in turn increase sales. Both the PS3 and Wii should stay the same price, how that (and the hype train dying down) affects the sales has yet to be seen.

last month Microsoft said that they will only ship 2 million 360's by June so thats would be like around 11 to 11.5 million in sales and Sony said they plan to ship 6 million PS3's by May. I reckon that in June Sony would have sold half of what 360 has sold.

It's interesting that opinions changed so quickly with that site. When they had the 360 at around 5 million or so it was "relevant". But now that it's alot higher than the other platforms it seems that it's not credible anymore. It's funny how opinions change for people in order to fit situations.

Because 360 doesn't sell well in Europe.

Europe has always been more favorable to Sony. Also Europe always have to pay higher prices then other markets so the high price point is expected.

It doesn't have really good games now but neither did 360 when it launched.

No. When the site has been proven wrong by Peter Moore himself I think it makes everything you say look like a joke. That site had 360 at 10.5 million sold since Jan.

And remember what I said?  I was using it because the TC in that thread was swearing up and down it was the most reliable site on the net. 

The only reason most Sony fanboys use it is because they have the lowest estimate for 360.  You and I both know that.  The problem that they fail to see is that vgchart.org often works against Sony fanboy assumptions.

What I'd like to point out is that nextgenwars.com is a completely annonymous source that can not be verified and their numbers appear dubious. At the last check nexgenwars numbers were wired to rise at a rate of around 5xPS3, 55x360 and 550xWii evey minute. To make those figures more readable they are equivalent to 216,000 PS3, 2,376,000 Xbox 360, and 23,760,000 Wii per month. All numbers look a bit unrealistic and I'll talk about it on future posts below.

You need to be successful in all 3 territories before a console is considered a success. 360 has already bombed in Japan and us Europeans much rather prefer the Wii and PS3, this only leaves America for the 360 but once great games come for PS3 no one would care about the 360.

next year 360 will be finished, for sure 8)
