Makes me think PS5 will have similar features and maybe cross gen games need the extra controls. Thus we have this.

Meh. It’s a nice addition to the PS4 controller for sure but the Xbox One controllers are still the more comfortable controllers in my opinion and the Xbox One Elite controllers still look to be the better controller to me.

Defo a standard feature for the Dualshock 5 why release so late in the PS4 lifespan otherwise. It's a bit odd looking and looks to make the DS4 super bulky.

Mark my word. This accessory makes the DS4 forward compatible. The DS5 will 100% have these paddles on the back

Will it also come with a decent length charge cord? The battery in the controller will now last an hour probably.

Well, Sony sure knows how to deliver when it comes to making your controller look ghetto.

I've never really had any problems with the ps4 controller. The battery isn't great at times thats my only gripe.

That's cool and all but, I can't think of a single use for that thing at all! Looking at this, this reads like, more battery stress!

If that's what we're getting with the PS5 hopefully it's far more refined and built into the controller, and adds minimal bulk.

For the DS5 I hope the paddles come standard and they replace the touch pad with an oled screen.

@Star67: that was my thought too. People can say this looks stupid, and they might be right, but there's probably a reason Sony is tacking this on now

I was initially very confused until i saw the vid? a whole attachment just for an extra back button?

but yes: flappy paddle buttons. Good Job sony. Hopefully built into the PS5 controller as standard too. I have been saying it ever since using the steam controller: there is no reason not to have this in every controller on every console next gen.

I'm already annoyed at Nintendo for overlooking it for the switch, especially with the pro controller (they could do something similar to this easily enough for the joycons.).

You looking MS: no messing. flappy paddle buttons as standard on the XsX controller. Get it done. The elite controller has it already: there is no reason not to have it on the standard controller next gen.

looks like a good add-on, hopefully the the back paddles are implemented in the PS5 controller.

As for the product, as I said, its a good add-on and good for those that want those back paddles but don't want to shell out $100+ for the Scuf Vantage, Astro C40, etc.

Something like this would have been nice before I spent $250 on my scuf controller.. lol. I do like my controller though, and it's green and purple, so there's that too.

This the DS5. It has nothing on the back. Maybe it will need attachment too.

Is there an attachement for the Dual shock 4 that makes the battery last longer than 15 minutes?

Umm, that's nice. Not a fan of putting extra shit under my gamepad and sacrificing ergonomics though.

@KillzoneSnake: That's the controller on the dev kit. Doesn't necessarily mean it's finished.

Yeah especially since if they want to support VR games (which the look pretty invested in) they need the light on the controller for tracking.

Preview of what’s to come with DS5.

I actually quite like rear pedal buttons, they were the one resounding positive of the Steam controller and good additions with the X1 Elite variant. Having them standard is welcome, in my mind.

@KillzoneSnake: The Vita has rear touchpad. There are no buttons or paddles visible. Maybe it’s something like that.

There could be changes, dont expect much if any tbh. PS5 will be revealed in like 2 months.

Agreed. Must be DS5 additions. My concern is it will make the most comfy controller less comfortable.

When it comes to controllers we've reached critical mass. Sometimes less is more. I remember certain controllers in years gone being absolutely bonkers. The dual analogue design is just about perfect, I don't want to be doing anything with the rested fingers.

Give me better triggers instead, the DS4 triggers are hardly an improvement on the shitty ones the PS3 had.
