[QUOTE="outcasthero"][QUOTE="laughingman42"]Dude that sucks I dont know why people losing their jobs would make anyone happy. are you people so obsessed that you actually like the fact that people are losing their jobs just so your console of choice gets a few better games?x037leox

Exactly. And as bad as it may be, it seems most people completely ignored the part at the bottom that said, "Sony is a big company, and they just may yet weather this." As unfortunate as it may seem right now, cutting corners (and jobs) is part of this weathering process that while unfortunate for those it is happening to, it has to be done for the long term strategy of the company.
I believe that they will firmly be able to weather this storm, but at a loss of the market in the gaming division. Sony will end up probably third, and maybe second this time around, but I do not think that the PS3 is going anywhere. They have WAY too much riding on it, and they are going to do whatever is necessary to try and counter as much of this situation as they can because there is still a HUGE market out there for the PS3.
Sony just needs to get those big name titles released and needs to figure out a way to have a PS3 price cut, and Sony will be right back in this thing. I would be riding David Jaffee's and Corey Barlog's a$$es to get on GOW 3 NOW. The PS3 needs another big game like that. Also get out games that casuals will want to pick up like GT5. Games like LBP will help out immensly as well I believe.
As a PS3 owner and supporter it really just sucks to see such a GREAT system getting such a hard time. Yes, it is expensive but Sony made one fine piece of equipment here, and the games are going to be there. Some people just lose all hope and patience right at the outset, but when all is said and done, I have to be a realist and say that ultimately....that 600.00 price tag is all that is holding the PS3 at bay. And the sooner they recognize this, and find a way to remedy it, the better off they will be in the end.

Sony is Greedy period. Don't try to spin it another way. A good corporation will not gamble on unestablished formats and later pay the expensives of it's mistakes by eliminating the Livelihood of it's workers. The people who should be laid off are it's corporate executives that make six figures who gambled on trying to corner the next format war in thier favor.
Well, Ken Kutaragi already got fired, so..
