[QUOTE="tango90101"][QUOTE="Zhengi"][QUOTE="tango90101"][QUOTE="Zhengi"] Wow, Fuzzy_Munch is the ultimate MS fanboy.
Also, it doesn't matter if MS has limitless funds. They are still accountable to stock holders and if the company starts losing too much money in their console division than the stock holders can ask for them to pull the plug. So MS can't just keep throwing money at the situation like you want them to.
Zhengi
actually most stock holders are smart enought to see the longterm strategy ms is taking....
...it's funny tho... sony is around 2 billion in losses with the ps3 and expecting more losses for next year, but somehow sony's stockholders don't have a problem...right?
MS is $6 billion in the hole right now with their Xbox division. Do you think the stock holders will be happy if MS spends another $6 billion?
so far they're already making a profit from the 360's unit sales... where do you get they'll lose another 6 billion?
next gen? kinda "speculating" wouldn't you think...;)
and so far the ms stockholders haven't had a problem with ms' strategy...
They've made peanuts compared to how much they've actually spent. If they continue to bring in the same profit margin, it'll take them some 60 years to regain what they put back in.
As for the future, MS isn't going to win this gen no matter how much you think they will. They'll have to invest more money into their next console and hope they win the next gen. That means more money being poured into their Xbox division. If they go for their razors strategy once more, expect billions of losses once again.
finally somebody with a bit of intelligence.
M$ can never win the gaming wars. They can always give others a run for their money, but look at both of their systems: they both started out seen as "the next thing in technology" only to get beaten by Sony of Nintendo. The Wii has already demolished the 360, and the PS3 is selling more than what the 360 was in its first year or so. 360 was first and it already is being overtaken. why? because M$ does NOT have gaming system experience. They rushed the 360 and screwed up. Even with a widely installed base, they are still losing money to the huge number of repairs they have to make to their system.
these topics are stupid. buy what you want and enjoy it. i think a lot of the 360 owners are just getting testy now that their system isn't dominating. and just a bit jealous of the Wii's success and the Playstation's "one-up" tendency with M$.
