I don't see the big deal...I never buy used games and I don't sell many of my own games. I wait for price drops if I don't think a game is worth $60.

This is terrible.
No buying used games, trading them in, borring them from friends
I don't see how anyone can spin this into a positive.
Damn you Sony.
That's bull-sh*t. He was obviously talking about product activation codes like how used games are treated on the consoles right now.
In no way did he mean what the article in the OP is suggesting.
[QUOTE="Nengo_Flow"]I said it before (when the whole EA pass started in 09), I have no issue with the blocking of used games. All consoles should block used games.kuraimen:| Wtf? Umad?
Exactly what I was thinking. It will be as it is right now, most likely; with EA and Sony's Online Pass, et ceteraThat's bull-sh*t. He was obviously talking about product activation codes like how used games are treated on the consoles right now.

What do you mean? It IS up to the devs/publisgers, thats why there is the EA and Ubisoft online passes. Sony, M$ or Nintendo cant tell them to have or not have online passes. SONY, M$, Nintendo dont control the content or the way the content is availale of 3rd party games.Sony deserves to bankrupt for this imo
Disgusting they would leave it up to publishers

Nintendo did not allow this **** on the Wii U... it's ultimately up to Sony or MS to give devs the power to do this.

Its sony's console and they can do what they want. Microsoft implimented a lot of restricitions on developers for a long time until they eventually gave on things like how large an update could be, or what size a game on the arcade could be, or what the resolution standard for a 360 game could be... and so on.
If sony wanted they could say "You cannot block used games or any game that uses the psn is not allowed to feature an online pass"

Sony has a responsibility to gamers to block any publisher who institutes a no used game policy from using their platform. Anything less is just makes Sony out to be just as f*cking stupid.
You don't understand, if the publisher wants to block used games EVEN NOW, they can do it. Sony is just allowing the publisher to do it or not so that they are not liable for any criticism of a publisher using it. If Sony blocked used games then consumer backlash would be huge, if Sony DIDN'T block used games(not allowing the blocking of games), publisher backlash would be huge. This way only the publisher gets backlash unless you're a misinformed fool from SW.Sony deserves to bankrupt for this imo

Sony aint as evil as M$. Im up for blockage of used games, so I dont care whether its SONY or the publishers that block 'em. Either way, PS4 day one for me.That has always been the case, even on PS3, it's not going to happen but publishers could require an online activation for single player on PS3 if they wanted, taking the online pass to the next level essentially. SaltyMeatballsA new gen brings forward a new way of thinking. It is going to happen.

SaltyMeatballsTechnically they could... and then wait for the first sale doctrine lawsuits to flow from Gamestop, Bestbuy, Amazon, etc.

ShadowDeathXA new gen brings forward a new way of thinking. It is going to happen. I don't think it will. Publishers and Sony will be pushing digital more, a lot more, digital will be more competitive (even if it becomes just slightly cheaper cheaper than retail like PS Vita digital store), people can't sell digital copies so it would become a moot point.
[QUOTE="airshocker"]This. TC is just trying to twist around info Exacly this, guys Online Pass os not PSN or Live feature, it's exploit of DLC system, could be easilly attached to whole game, so yes PS4 allows for this mechanics.... as PS3, 360, Wii U and the king in this proceeder.... PC allows to doThat's bull-sh*t. He was obviously talking about product activation codes like how used games are treated on the consoles right now.

The answer is so simple as to be almost ludicrous. Don't buy games from publishers who bog their games down with DRM. It's as simple as that. Some of you will look for any possible excuse to blame Sony for the evils of this world. I saw a dead squirrel on the road on the way to work this morning. Blame Sony for that while you're at it.

I'm pretty sure if a publisher blocks used games on PS4 it will also apply to the 720. They aren't going to divide it.
