isn't one of your complaints that psn lacks features compared to live? So now they want to implement some of the things everyone wants and its still not good? What exactly do you want? If they don't have it its bad, if they do have it its also bad? Lame thread.

Copying is okay, as long as its not exactly the same. You have to add your own twist to it or try to improve it. Nothing is completely orginal. Everything is based off of something.

The interview shows that Sony know they've screwed up but prefer not to say so despite clearly appearing to feel that way. They're hardly on a level playing field seeing how the 360 has IM chat, movie rental, cross-game chat, and unified friends lists, so I guess that's just Sony being their typical selves again....

Of course, they're going to improve their service in the future, but so is Microsoft. MS create cool features, Sony copies them, MS comes up with even more features, SOny copies them ,etc. Unless they come up with something useful and worth while (Home doesn't count, cows) they're not going to keep up with Live. Also, I'll laugh myself to death if they begin charging for PSN.

no they werent...They have always existed in one form or another. Those older online arcade sites had similar features set up.

Not to mention Achievements for individual games, have exsisted for decades.

Well is getting better all the time i guess but wasn't the trophies the PSN achievement-like system or what now you get both achievements and trophies because i like the idea now you can brag about your hax skillz with people that don't give a pickle.

"I'm the leet warhawk player biatch i got all teh achievements and i got da trophy to prove it newb".

So basically.

PS3 sucks for not having achievments, not having cross game meassing, no XMB while gaming.

Usually people would scream "rip-off" or "copy", yet I see this as a good thing. Sony have the guts to recognise that Xbox Live is a great service. They are going to try and implement some of the more successful features into PSN while still try to keep the price free, or at least relatively low. To me, that sounds like a superb little piece of self improvement. And people say Sony don't care.. :(

there are plenty of programs, hell STEAM has their own chat program and demos/mods for their games. There're gametiger.com, battle.net or UT's own servers., GAIM has a mod that allows you to chat on any game that you play which is cool since, gaim is compatible with AIM, YAHOO, % MSN. The features goes on.
