I'm very grateful companies like CD Projekt exist. A developer that knows the packaging of a game can greatly increase its enjoyment. If I were a bazillionaire, I would run a massive gaming company that would produce not only great games, but complete packages. Physicality, like anything in life, is HUGE in how much pleasure it brings to the core experience. I mean, hell, if they bring out a pill I can swallow so I won't have to eat to survive, yay! Not like eating is immensely satisfying, it's simply a bother. Right. Way to go pubs, keep it all digital and greatly lessen the fun and enjoyment of gaming. Nothing quite compares to hitting that DL button. MirkoS77Well I acknowledged that point above didnt I. I am just saying the majority of people want something downloaded because it saves them going to the store...often it can be a cheaper option. Look at music...it went from vinyl to cassette to c.ds and downloads....downloads are increasing in popularity. its going to be the same for games....cartridges...cd's and downloads. It doesnt mean that you cant still get hold of new records on vinyl...there is still a market for them, its just an exclusive market for people that djay or collect. The same would happen with gaming...specialist retail outlets that focused on selling games with a special physicality which you mentioned you enjoyed. If anything a general shift towards DD would place a greater incentive on businesses to craft specialist physical units they could sell to people like you at a premium.
