Sony Dec event, which rumour is most likely #sdc

I think the Capcom game will be Dragons Dogma 2 because:

a) They can use the assets from Deep Down (Maybe 2 seperate releases)

b) Its not too expensive to fund

c) PS fans are very fond of japanese RPGs

d) Can grow a lot as a franchise

rumor has it that the 3rd party exclusive for the PS4 and that it will make everyone rage comes from Capcom and it's Dragon's Dogma 2.

As fun as that game is, it was so simple.

Its made by a japanese dev and the gamedesign is very much japanese.

I know that people get hung up on the aesthetics of both of those franchises (DD and Souls) but that makes them not western.

And the IP is still under Activisions's ownership. If Acti wants to do a new Crash game, they'll make it multiplat. Just because it's Crash, doesn't mean it needs to be made my ND

@deadline-zero0: I agree... but for the reasons you just described.... it cannot be ruled out entirely. Also ND could publish under Activision with Sony's permission. I'm sure sony and Activision can come to some sort of agreement. Its in both parties interest

Honestly, the though of ND doing another Crash games excites me more than anything else listed, but that's up to Activision and Sony.

I'm not ruling it our completly, just saying it's very unlikely. ND's main team is making UC4, and if have a feeling that if offered the chance to make another Crash game for next gen, they'd prefer to have team A on the job, considering the importance of the franchise. Maybe

Besides, like i said, Activision would just make it multiplat. Why would Acti make an exclusive deal with Sony and limit the audiance when they can use their own teams and make it for all platforms? They're not exactly strapped for cash.

i dont get all of the love for Crash, the games were fun for the time but nothing great. it would probally be really risky now and cost Sony alot to buy back the Crash ip and bring it back from the dead.. I would rather see a new MediEvil game myself

Also, why would Sony have anything to do with an FF7 remake? It was a multiplat game back in the 90s, and Square love porting their games to every possible device nowadays.

You might as well say the rumor that Sony will announce that God has purchased a PS4 and endorses the console because that is more likely than either one of those announcements happening.

Fair enough. It's also a testament to how much western game designers still have to catch up with. Thunder Force 4 is more complex than most of these RPGs, and that's being generous.

If anything, Dark Souls felt like a really forgiving Gothic spin-off - albeit one with cool boss fights and tighter level design.

EDIT: Removed kings field - going back to kings field is not fair, plus the game wasn't as much of a challenge compared to souls; it was technically less developed.

Plasystation also just hit it's 20th anniversary, something like a Crash announcment at this time would be epic

@Liquid_: oh how awesome a new legend of legia or dragoon game would be. Not gonna happen though, jrpgs aren't liked by the mainstream like they were in the ps1 era... halo and the ilk turned people into dude bros, and now we have the cod console crowd of today :(
