The PS3 can do a lot of things besides just play movies, but you have to know about them.

Like putting on another OS

utilizing Remote Play

and a lot of other things

Frankly, I think that PlayStation 3 is one of the worst consoles ever made. I mean, where do we have the games? Haze flopped extremely badly - it fell with a thud. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - 8/10 by Eurogamer and Edge, I mean, come on! This is laughable! When are you going to realize that Killzone 2 won't stand a chance? Gears of War 2 is going to curb stomp it and no one is looking forward to Killzone 2! Poor PlayStation 3 owners, get a real console and smile... Hype_Status

Hey, every company has PR and spin. Microsoft does it, Nintendo does it, its a business fact of life.

All the did was include Blu Ray, which is completely relevant to gaming. Alot of devs like the extra space, and now the PS3 is $50 higher than the pro 360. What's the big deal? Is that still going to be an issue when the PS3 is $200?

I think it does have a HDMI port (I'm not 100% sure though). AS for the other 2 things they're pretty irrelevant. It's supposed to be a games console. Who gives a *** about useless failed HD movies? the lack of wierless is an issue but not a big one. Wireless connections are less secure although they don't require an ethernet cable

The 360 has more games, more exclusives, better exclusives, more multiplatform games, better multiplatform games, better online, a better controller. These things are more important IMO

Well, they added HDMI to the 360 after the PS3 launched with it as standard. The 360 has more games, doesnt mean the PS3 doesnt have any. The 360 has more exclusives, doesnt meant the PS3 doesnt have any. The 360 has better exclusives, like you said, it's an opinion. Multiplat games, doesnt mean the PS3 doesnt have any. Better multiplat? It's getting more even now. Better online? At a cost, the PSN is just fine, although inferior. Better controller? That's a lame argument, but alot of people make it. Yeah, you're right.. deliberately deceiving people and physically forcing people to buy something are totally different... in principal only, mind you. Its still a pretty crappy thing to do. And no, Microsoft nor Nintendo did anything close to this.

Are you kidding? Microsoft screwed everyone over with their own hardware standardization, the harddrives are insanely overpriced compared to regular computer drives. The Wii lacks any kind of internal storage for downloadable content for games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, making buying those games essentially pointless if you want the extra content (especially Rock Band). Sticking with an old DVD format in the next generation was the dumbest thing Microsoft could have done, because within a year or two games will be multiple discs, whereas the PS3 gets single discs, sure the load times are not going to be great on a single disc but it happens with mass storage devices, most people might remember how slow DVD's were initially.

No one told people they had to buy a PS3, the lack of games is due to the length of development time on them. Should Sony have waited and released the system later? Yes but from a business standpoint the time to release a new console was before Christmas, which is the best time to get sales. Sure the pricepoint was expensive at the time, but that is because Blu Ray was, now you can get a player for 400 bucks. The fact that games are becoming multiplat more and more is not Sony's fault, they would have been the clear winners had GTA4 been PS3 exclusive, just like all the other games were for so very long. The PS3 has it's flaws, from a technological standpoint Cell is really what has held the console back, simple as that, otherwise it would be a great console that would have far more multiplat games being released at the same time as 360 games were it easier to design for.

At the end of the day, the PS3 is a great system if you have a little thing called patience waiting for games, and at least when they do come out they are usually worth waiting, unlike the Wii which is the dumping grounds for garbage 3rd party games and all the shooters on the 360 makes me want to vomit.

At best it is Stale At worst it is an uncomfortable, outdated controller design that is uselless for FPS games and contains oversensitive motion control to make up for the lack of rumble. The situation with multiplatform games is still far from perfect and 360 exlusives are FAR better than Ps3 exclusives if we go by the view of critics, the views of gamers or the popularity of the titles. Obviously there are individuals outthere who disagree

Making people pay 120 dollars for a wireless adapter for the 360, forcing people to spend 200 dollars for a 120 GB hard drive when you can get one for a PC for like 50. Charging people 50 dollars a year for peer to peer gameplay. Using DVD9 instead of HDDVD which might not have wound up flopping if they actually supported it. Not using 7.1 surround sound support for audio, how about the lack of HDMI initially on their console? Red rings of death, overheating consoles with giant power bricks that you could kill someone with.

I hate to burst your bubble but Xbox controllers are an exact clone of the PS controllers, which all spawn from the same button scheme that Nintendo used for the SNES controllers, only just with handle grips on them which is the only thing that sets them apart. At least PS controllers aren't bulky and are easy to grab :P

The PS3 controller is 10 year old because it's a good fit. Where do you think the Xbox's main inspiration came from? It's a fine controller, and it's all about preference. If someone is awesome at COD4 on the PS3, then they'll be awesome at COD4 on the 360, the controller is hardly a big deal. I dont really have a preference, they're both fine to me. I just dont see the difference.

I'm not paying more for less. My experince with the PS3 has been much better than my experince with the 360. Yeah, yeah, my 360 has RROD'd twice or whatever, but besides that, the gaming experince on my PS3 has been great. You cant tell me I'm paying more for less.

Unless you ever saw me write movies aren't important in 1 one my posts, don't put words into my mouth. I use my 360 for everything revolving around entertainment in my house: I dowload HD TV shows for me and my family, rent HD movies, play music in game and sometimes just to listen, and play HD games. Gaming is the most important part for me but I enjoy using my system for a wide range of things...I even have it connected to my Media Center PC.

My point was, for all of you Blu Ray homers, is that in a few years when all of you spend $35 a piece for your HD movies, you will be able to download them to your console probably for less money...And I promise you it will be done on the next XBox. Most likely in 2010. The only reason the movies companies don't let you download movies for keeps now is so that they can have you rebuy them in a few years.

My power brick is hidden behind my TV, why should i care

So basically for me nearly all of them are either actually good for me or hardly make a difference. With the exception of RroD and Live as little bothers. Well rather RroD as a big bother and Live as a tiny one.
