Sony Direct: Web Based Conference To Announce PS Vita Games (Lol PS Vita)

Ripping off yet another thing from Nintendo (I'm kidding! :P), Sony has announced that, in the vein of Nintendo's hit (albeit almost always anti climactic) Nintendo Direct web based conferences, they will be hosting one on March 9, 2012. This conference will be held to announce as yet unannounced Vita games.

According to Sony's announcement, the broadcast will include information about unannounced Vita titles, upcoming releases, and Vita services, as well as new information about in-release titles. The broadcast will feature presentations from game creators.

I will be updating the OP with any more information that we get, but in any case, this should be interesting. The Vita is floundering, and it has no momentum as of right now. Some major announcements would certainly change that.

Tune in to the official event site on March 9, 2012, 8PM Japan Time to watch the conference.

So it was basically the biggest troll move ever. No new games announced. Well, no system sellers anyway. Except for Phantasy Star Online 2. And that's due in 2013. A year from now.

The Vita has a long, long year ahead of it in Japan.

Sounds good to me. Here's hoping some good looking exclusives are announced. Looking for an excuse to get one.

A Souls game on the Vita would be AWESOME!

A new Demons/Dark Souls game exclusive to the Vita by From Software. It's the one arrangement that would really not only legitimize the Vita in Japan, but also open up the series to a wider audience.

well lets hope most of those games are not ports of console games.

I'm going to guess imageepoch is going to be present. They have an announcement in Famitsu, which hits shelves the day before this event.

Interesting. They could turn Sony-owned Demon's Souls IP into their "handheld" IP for the series, without conflict with Dark Souls which can be a multiplatform console IP.

The game would probably work well with the Japanese portable market.

I acutally never threw my controller during Demons or Dark souls. Although I did throw my Logitech g35 headset at the wall and broke it from playing SSF4 :( Fighting games get to me more than anything, so maybe I shouldnt get SFxT
