Vita needs some Japanese-centric games fast.

Um they got a bunch of those...only in Japan.

The Last Guardian, Gran Turismo, and a crapton of PSP games.Whatever they announce, it needs to be amazing, because that other machine is disappearing into the distance, and WTF have SCEJ been doing for the past 6 years?

that doesnt bode well, to think you have a entire studio dedicated to japanese games and tastes and not be releasing anything on time, TLG, anf GT are perfect examples of over indulging with time management

The Japanese studio has been horribly mismanaged. Yoshida recently committed himself to bringing it up to scratch with the western SCEI studios, so it might get better soon. I think a Sony Santa Monica guy now heads SCEJ.If I was Nintendo, I would be flattered. babycakinSony answering Ninty's attempt to upstage them on the very day of Vita's launch isn't exactly flattery. It's more like an "Oh no you di-int!" reply. :P

They made Siren Blood Curse and Gravity Rush, Japan devs usually take more time making games its just the way they are. Remember Kojima ? only had Peace Walker and MGS 4 for this gen, they move slowly well most of them.[QUOTE="Zaibach"][QUOTE="charizard1605"] The Last Guardian, Gran Turismo, and a crapton of PSP games.johny300

Went back and found the list of Japanese developers that Sony said were working on software for Vita last June. Not sure if anything really shouts "system seller" though, since some of the biggest (S-E, Capcom) have their franchises on 3DS.

Pretty sure Square owns the rights to FF7 and FF10. What i don't understand is why Sony never invested in a Pokemon clone for themselves. I mean, the franchise is a gold mine, and having something that would shift even half the software and hardware units that it does would be a veritable treasure. Didn't they say they have more than 70 games in development for Vita ? there has to be a japan studio making like 20 of those so maybe they were busy with the Vita.
I actually want more games next gen from Sony's japan on PS4.

Make it so, Sony.
Not Demon's Souls but a new Souls game, i would buy that day 1, no need to port it to vita. No, I mean a new Demons Souls game for the Vita. Remember, Sony owns the Demons Souls IP. Ripping off yet another thing from Nintendo

I know. Nintendo may not have invented conferences, but they made them popular. Sony just biting off Nintendo again.
Yep, lets remember that Nintendo invented conferences like they invented motion controls and white bread.
Exactly, why does everyone think web conferences are something new. We have them at my company all the time and have had them for years.

None of Sony's attempts at capitalizing on popular IPs from other companies have ever proved to be more than 10% as successful as the leaders in the that genre.Don't get nor care for the love the Souls series gets.
but whatever Sony's show is gonna be, i'm assuming it's gonna be aimed directly at the Japanese audience and not us.

Not like there is no overlap between audiances, PSP got a lot of niche titles localized for North America anyways. Publishers like XSEED and NIS seem pretty happy with not super high sales.

WHO GREENLIGHTS DIS TOSS?
Hey don't hate :o The "girl" can be anyone including your mom. And "XXX" is supposed to be left to your imagination :P You're a freak bra!! D+ ;P A souls game for vita would be great, but I don't see it happening.Backwards compatibility certainly matters in this case, because the Vita is not just competing with the 3DS, it is also competing with the PSP. If it were fully backwards compatible with the PSP, this would not be the case. It is somewhat similar to the situation with PS2 and PS3 back in 2007.charizard1605
You can buy almost every important PSP game and play it on the PSVita though.
New Vita demon's souls would be amazing. Include some of the stuff they added to Dark Souls, and it's golden.110millionit would be cool, but without R2/L2 how would you use heavy attacks?
I am considering buying a Vita, I played it at Best Buy and it was awesome! It's a really nice handeld system and it feels great. And Uncharted Golden Abyss was fun, I also like how your PSN account is linked so you can still get trophies and talk to friends.
BUT, why are the memory cards SO expensive? Seriously Sony, wtf!?

Hell yeah this is why i love March! not only does Spring begin with this month but it always has tons of game announcments, tons of game releases, my brithday :P and more!
i get really excited when i know sony is about to announce something :P

Souls games aren´t big at all
Demon's Souls went greatest hits, which means 500k sold.
As for getting L2/R2 to work, could make it a strip along the sides of the back touchscreen.
Let's be honest, a lot of PSP's best games were not exactly system sellers anyways.

And what if you have a library of 50 UMD games? More importantly, games like Peace Walker, Birth By Sleep and Crisis Core are all NOT on the PSN. Birth by sleep you can blame Disney for not allowing SE to put it on PSN, sony and SE has nothing to do with it
They need not only Japan centered games but MP games as well. If their isn't some form of MP game...mainly a shooter. Then it's all over in USA

that would be horribly finiky, especially if it doesn't register while you're fighting mobs of enemies. Why should he have to?
Imagine if Windows 7 wasn't backwards compatible with software designed for older versions of Windows, or imagine if modern day CPUs and GPUs weren't BC with older software, it would be an outrage...
It's amazing how some people try to undermine the importance of backwards compatbility... sad.
And Vita is doomed for bigger reasons outside of the lack of UMD BC, though it is still a reason. PSP is outselling the Vita badly in Japan right now.

The point is, there is some solution or another. I would take some sacrafices here and there to get it anyways.
