as far as third parties are concerned..yea there gone. bar a few rare exceptions, multiplat is the way to go if a publisher wants to maximise revenue. making a game for multiple platforms doesent greatly increase the cost if its considered from day one. so really, a third party developer would have to be a brain dead idiot to ignore multiplat development. if ure making a wii game then u may as well plonk it on the PS2 and PSP also. if ure making a PS3 game then put it on PC and 360 also. it just makes good business sense.
if the wii2, 720 and PS4 are similar in horsepower then expect multiplat levels to increase further.
so the only reason to choose one platform over the other in the end, next gen, would be features and first and second party exclusives and price.
is it a good thing for games? well thats another debate.
[QUOTE="facebooker"]haha unlike sony, ms can always afford exclusives to satisfy 360 owners. sony's getting desperateLoZoned
not desperate, just wanting to put more money into their own studios unlike ms. you lemms are always grasping at straws just face the fact that the ps3 is a better system and will outsell the crapbox. you all need to wake up.
i don't think you even believe in that crap yourself
Yea, I'm sure MS has tons of money to spend. Especially on mega flops like Too Human and how about 2 more to make the trilogy lol.SolidGame_basic
and sony spent tons of money on flopzone as well. and now they're investing even more on the sequel LOL

Too Human has sold 700k copies to date.
not our fault that 360 owners are buying this crappy game to save face, "yeah the game sucks ass, but it sold a million", its like telling the dev its ok to make this garbage because you idiots buy it, lemms these days.
same can be said about cows buying a ps3

where's your link for ms supposedly spent tons of money on too human
[QUOTE="jonnyt61"]The article talks about the differences in gaining exclusivity from Publishers, and Developers.
It's basically saying that Big name publishers, such as EA, or Ubisoft, are much less likely to do exclusive games, without the incentive of millions of $'s.
It also goes on to say, that instead, working with independant studios, and helping small teams with devlopment of their titles is what is going to bring in the 3rd party exclusives. Sony has consistently done so, with studios such as Media Molecule, Quantic Dream etc.
The actual fact is, that the future of exclusives lies in in-house devlopment, and the support of independant, small developers. Something that Sony has continued to prove, in comparison to Microsofts almost complete reliance on big name 3rd party publishers, and a very select few in house developement groups.
Anyone who can't see the advantage Sony has gained by focusing on in-house devlopment, is extremely blind.

well if your talking about the original agreed, but you cant call it flopzone until it actually comes out in feb, if it scores bad call it flopzone all you want
no, this is actually good news for Sony, and they know it. They know that they don't have to pay for exclusives, since exclusives will come to them. They don't have to shell out millions for the best exclusives to come to them, like SOCOM, GOW3, MGS4, and Team Ico project. The 360 is going to break the bank, while the PS3 leaps past it to victory. Fart_Storm
wow. talk about a mad cow.
sony is free falling from the top of the mountain and you're saying that they will do better than ms? face it, sony is losing the console war, there will NOT be a PS4, and you wasted $600 on a shiny dust magnet.
[QUOTE="DanteSuikoden"]What's the point of having consoles if they all share almost all of the same games:?DireToad
I have one.....2 in fact :|
They still have alot of first party devs, they're not just going to disapearfootfoe2
actually they could do what sony did; stop making hardware and continue to to develop and publish games.

i dont think sony will fall off the horse that easily and hey i only spent 200 on my dust magnet! but the positions have changed sony is xbox last gen and ms is ps2 this gen
Sony has the best gaming philosophy. They take little no name companies that are willing to try something new and original and fund them for their projects. If their project turns out to be a hit then they may later on buy that developer.
Better than MS spending tons of money on an already established developer that doesn't want to try something original.

That is why Sony always seems to come out on top. New original games. One prime example is Little Big Planet.

well not really because the ps3 do have some great games to play on and while you may believe otherwise, it's only an opinion. It's more of a fact that too human haven't received many "great" reviews than the ps3 being a terrible gaming machine

there is no denying that the fact remains that sony has spent too much money on the ps3 with absolutely no benefit from it. at the end of the gen, they will still be in the red like MS last gen. so far, we have not heard any news about the ps4 even being in conceptual stages yet which is a bad sign. the 720 and wii 2 are already being worked on. sony can and the cows can spout the "10 year life cycle" all they want but the truth is that sony always releases a new console half-way through the life of it's current product. hell, the ps3 was being planned out one entire year before the ps2 even hit th market. next gen starts in 2 years and they still have not announced anything. it is safe to say they may not enter next gen. if they do, they will be really late.

Since when is a game copied from the 80's new and original? Do any of you people actually research other places besides Sonyhype.com ?

well if amd's cinema 2.0 and nvidia's physx/cuda are any indication, we still have a way to go. then there is realtime raytracing to think about.
