While certaintly alot ofsoftware, given the PS2 userbase sellthrough to gamers(>115 millbyMar 08')+ PSP userbase (30 mill+ in Mar' 08')+ PS3 userbase (8-10 million in March 08') that amounts toexpectations of under 2 games sold per hardware unit.

For comparison, Nintendo expects to sell 212 million units of software (DS & Wii) in the fiscal year ending March 2008on ahardware userbase of roughly90 million (DS ~67.3 million& Wii ~22.3 million).

Sorry I dont see why Sony has to phase out the 60gig.. 60gig of memory is enough and you can easily upgrade the harddrive for cheap.

Sony needs to fire its sales analyst lol. I can create a much more realistic sales plan via fully external data. This makes them look incompetent.

I agree. This must be the assumption that SOny is using in its forecasts, but so far that assumption is anything but reasonable.

Well, it's entirely possible they'll ship that much. For example, they could pull a Microsoft and just stuff the channel to meet their predictions.

It doesn't mean anything in terms of real userbase, but they'll have met their shipping estimates!
