Judging a game based off no screenshots, no info, no release date, no nothing.
The simple joys of system wars.
...how weak their roster actually is, especially since the characters they list have appeared on Nintendo and/or Microsoft platforms for around a decade now (Cloud and Sephiroth were even in the Nintendo handheld Kingdom Hearts titles!), and sometimes even SEGA platforms (Croc and Tomb Raider). Seriously, if you guys think this game actually has a lick of a chance of doing well, you'd better start coming up with characters actually owned by Sony, because they aren't going to be wasting budget money on licensing for characters that are no longer relevant and aren't theirs.Nintendonly
yeah yeah.. since you seem capable of seeing the future can you give me the winning nos for the next lottery draw :)
Has this game's existence even been confirmed yet? :|

Good quastion, so much disscusion for game with not much info other then it's a cross-over
Even Nintendo used 3rd party characters. A lot of Sony's IP's won't fit into this type of game... Uncharted? Resistance? I don't see it.SaltyMeatballsHere's the difference: 3rd party companies like SEGA and Konami WANTED their characters in Smash Bros., thus giving Nintendo them for practically nothing (obviously deals were in place with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes). No 3rd party is going to want their characters in this game, and Sony isn't going to waste development money on licensing. EDIT: Even so, it wasn't until the 3rd game that had 3rd party characters in it. This is Sony's first.

Take out his guns and just give him his melee attacks for his normals. If it has Smash style specials, his could work similarly to this special-only moveset I came up with for another thread: Up B: Pulls parachute on cargo crate. Doesn't have much of a vertical recovery, but can float far horizontally and can cling to the outside wall of the stage and climb up. Side B: Lunge roll Down B: Finds treasure. Throwable projectile. Treasure type is random Neutral B: Reads journal to see which treasure is most effective against enemy. Small doodles of enemy characters with weakness treasure appear in a thought bubble above Drake. Enemy's treasure weakness changes regularly. Throwing the wrong treasure at the enemy replenishes some of their health.
Well, chances are there won't be many, if at all any, third party characters in the game.
I can't wait to see people go "Oh, isn't that that ice cream truck guy from that game where I drove over the eiffel tower 15 years ago? Oh, and why is Indiana Jones have such greasy hair?"

This not mean that 3rd party won't do the same to Sony in same rules, Having characters in such gam could be considered adrvitisment, i bet few LBP costumes with 3rd party charaters also been pused by there original developers then asked by Sony, specialy if we talking about Sega and Sonic that seems magicly sell himself in lot of 3rd party games

I'm not being sarcastic. The game was universally panned.no it wasnt :S it faired average and strangely scored the same as Sega all star racing in your sig so so much for it being panned when it got an 8/10 talk bout the irony its delicious.
Look how bad these games were- (PAIN had Daxter, Buzz!, and Fat Princess in it) Do you guys honestly think Title Fight will do well?Nintendonly
Why you talking that game will be bad if you don't even know about it's form of gameplay?
btw ModNation Racers is not bad.... and it's not cross-over, it's same as 3rd party costumes in LBP or Krotos in MK9

I'm not being sarcastic. The game was universally panned.By critics or the players? :| We know everyone was anal about it comparing it to mario kart even though the game was nothing like it. It was a modifying racing game :| The game never had it's fair chance, I played it and the only issue was the long loading times other than that it was quite good and fun.

The new System Wars rules let me ask you how stupid you are without getting modded. Their roster should be strong because Sony actually has a connection third party developers. I feel like the only reason Nintendo didn't include third parties is because their console wasn't exactly filled with them and they don't want to advertise 3rd party games on other consoles. If my favorite character in Sony smash were, say, Sora, you can bet that I'm going to buy the game he's in on my console of choice (btw, where the hell is KH3?). I would be SHOCKED if Sony did not have a roster with both first and third parties. I think we can all expect Ratchet and Clank to make the cut and more than likely a Chimera even though Insomniac is third party because they would add to the roster AND sell more games for Insomniac.
Not to mention that Sony's lineup isn't pathetic. I personally expect Ratchet, Clank, Quark, Jak and Daxter, Sly, Bently, Murray, Cole, Nix, Kuo, Kessler, Drake, Kratos, Zeus, Hades, a Helghast, a Chimera, Loco Roco yellow thing, an ape from Ape Escape, Sacboy, a Mod Nation Racer, and Sweetooth. Sony owns all these franchises so there's 22 characters. Solid. Then when you add in third parties, like Ezio, Nariko, Sora, Snake, Sonic ect. I think there's strong potential.
[QUOTE="ermacness"]So, you can come up with an answer for Solid Snake and Sonic in SSBB, amrite?:| Of course he can, it'll be "That's different it was only two!!!". :P and then I'll come back with "Well maybe you should've worded your topic title a little differently" kind of approach.[QUOTE="Nintendonly"]...how weak their roster actually is, especially since the characters they list have appeared on Nintendo and/or Microsoft platforms for around a decade now (Cloud and Sephiroth were even in the Nintendo handheld Kingdom Hearts titles!), and sometimes even SEGA platforms (Croc and Tomb Raider). The truth is basically: Nintendo couldn't use many 3rd party characters because they weren't on their platform, as previously said, they were so limited to their very own characters it's laughable, at least Sony has a whole wide range of characters they have available to use. Kinda funny when you think about it.JohnF111You realize Metal Gear wasn't on the Wii and they put Snake in right? Only Sonic was the one who has been on the Wii (with Sonic and the Secret Rings, Black Knight, Sonic 4, Unleashed, Colors and even Mario and Sonic Olympics) and hell, unlike Snake (who had one game on the Gamecube), he was on the Gamecube longer.

There's a MGS game on the Gamecube, Plus Kojima has supported nintendo with other project's it would only be natural for him to want his Icon character in there. Also I think the 2nd metal gear game was on Nintendo.

The metal Gear 2: Solid snake was also released for nintendo back in the days :o

I'm aware of that, but my point is that Snake hasn't played a big role in Nintendo's third party, where Sonic has.Metal Gear on Nintendo (pre-Brawl):
Metal Gear (NES)
Metal Gear Solid (GBC)
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (Gamecube)
Sonic on Nintendo (pre-Brawl):
Sonic Advance 1-3 (GBA)
Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure (DS)
Sonic Heroes (Gamecube)
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 (Gamecube)
Sonic Mega Collection (Gamecube)
Sonic Riders (Gamecube)
Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wii)
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)

So using Solid Snake was what... a mistake? An afterthought? What are you getting at... He hasn't been in many games we get it if anything you're doing the opposite and making it seem like Nintendo used him because it's all they had left to use.[QUOTE="JohnF111"][QUOTE="nintendoboy16"] You realize Metal Gear wasn't on the Wii and they put Snake in right? whether you like it or not, nintendo would have used 3rd party if it had enough support from them. Also I suspect it has to do with the agreement because 3rd party publishers would likely want in on the money for using their characters so it's probably not going to happen at all much in the Sony version.
