Sony has a habit of milking there series...

-Ratchet and clank over 10 games since the PS2 days..If they keep cranking up like this,Most likely ratchet and clank will be multiplat just like crash and spyro did 5 yrs ago..

-Killzone already 3 games in less than 8 yrs more than Gears of war..And gears is more popular..

-Resistance..Same as the killzone games in less than 5 yrs..milk that milk the cow sony

-Syphon filter over 4 games in the series since 1999 or 2000 and there not even that good

-God of war series- over 3 games in less than 10 yrs,Generic hack n slash with medicore gameplay give it a rest sony

-Gran tursimo-PSP version coming in this fall..milk milking it...The series has been downhill since 01'

I found a great chunk of those games to be very good though, especially GoW 1-2 and Syphon Filter 1-3.

and FF doesn't count because that's just the name of the titles....but EVERY game is has different characters, story, setting, etc. and even sometimes different battle systems too

Is this a joke? I am no GT fan, but i know plenty of happy fans with the franchise, but i love Ratchet and clank, and calling it low quality is a joke. You clearly have not played future tools of desturction.

Your interpretation of "milking" is very misconstrued. Milking would be releasing a game, or multiple games every single year (Guitar Hero).

So making sequels to games is milking. Hmmmm...... Your only defense to your milking claim is that the series gets worse as it goes on. God of War II was a improvement in many ways over the first. I also think Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time will be much better than Tools of Destruction. If any series is milked it is Mario, but SMG was an amazing game and SMG 2 will be better. Your milking claim is totally wrong.

The only one that even contends for milkage is Ratchet and Clank.

ICO and SotC are two from the PS2 era and this gen there are even more new, quality IP's produced by Sony.

A lot of these games probably wouldn't have gotten the green light from other publishers. If Sony wanted to milk, they would've made Naughty Dog create a new Jak and Daxter instead of Uncharted. They would've made Sucke Punch make a Sly 4. I think you get my point. Sony publishes a lot of new IP's.

I think milking games is making lackluster games and using the name to get money. I think companies milk the name of the game rather than the actual games. Like making a game based off the name of Halo and being complete trash but selling a lot because of the name of the game. TC's claim would make sense if any of those games had a sequel or spinoff that only profited based on the name not the game itself.

What do you mean look at RnC? the game gets better and better each time and i love it, bought every single RandC game so far and neevr missed a single one and i say YESS they should keep on going with it and not stop it for atleast 2 more years as i love the series

It's true that they sell a lot, and expect it to sell a lot based on the name alone. But here's the thing, I actually enjoy these games. -please explain what was improved fom gow1 to gow2? kratos plays exactly the same except different spells. or do you think different monsters and new "button sequance" finishing moves makes it much better? bosses were more memorable in 2 but that was about it for me

anyway back to the topic, r&c is the most milked franchise in history as like you said like 10 games in 2 gen.
others, not really, guitar hero/band/etc.. are going to be top milked soon.

mario isn't really milked, his name/image is, but the main franchise is not, 1 per gen for a while, 2 this gen, its not that bad(and at least they all/most play differently). actually the only mario franchise game that is/was milked is mario party
