"Gfk has stated the Nintendo DS and the PlayStation 2 are the top selling games consoles so far this year, followed by the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 then PSP"
PS3 is obviousulys not doing so well.

Its actually now 21 million.
PS2 alone sold over 2.2 million last gen, i think that shows how under estimated our makret is.
[QUOTE="elite_ferns1"][QUOTE="Eponique"]YEAH WE'RE WINNING IN AUSTRALIA!!!! TCHBO!!!da1on2
wii is winning everywhere...
sleeper hit of this gen
Have fun playin teh sales! In before the "at least we have something to play!" (no you dont)
Even if they did, it would be far from over. The Genesis sold more units in Europe, a hell of a lot more. Yet who won? Also, the Saturn beat the SNES in sales in Japan, yet which one outsold who?
Aussie pride world wide yeah go us!!!
I'm not sure if this is correct in terms of sales, but I've always though people here tend to favour the wii and PS3 rather than the 360. Althogh people here in general aren't to crazy over consoles in general.
The problem is that the Wii is not competing with the 360 or the ps3, its competing with childrens toys. THREAD FAILED

er all video game consoles are toys.
but as you'll notice it's now being sold in Harvey Norman consumer electronic stores as a Blu-ray player."

Yeah, I laughed when I first saw the PS3 in the Blu-Ray player section of the JBHIFI catalogue, not the video game section.
Anyway when Australia becomes integral to the gaming world give me a PM.

The Wii is a video game SYSTEM this is SYSTEM wars. You can't just omit a console because your console of choice is being completely OWNED!
Add 1 to the total, I'm buying one tomorrow. Gonna get me a game or two, then do an epic VC buy-up, first and foremost being Gunstar Heroes.
Luckily my sister works at the local Toys'R'Us, so she can cut me a few discounts/deals on the whole thing :)
Jagazaar
OMG if you haven't play Paper Mario on the N64 I suggest getting that. That game oozes with charm, best game on the VC IMO.

*rollseyes* BREAKING NEWS: worlds biggest fanboy ever and is getting desperate to find ways of bashing wii and owning himself.
If you were smart, you'd know NA is the biggest gaming market, and 360 is dominant there... GhettoTaxii
Actually, if I remember correctly, the Wii is now outselling the 360 by at least 2:1 in the US and is quickly catching up to the 360's total sales there as well. I can't find the exact source though because the NPD sales charts are a bugger to find for free and only come out once a month.
So yeah, I for one, welcome our new Wii overlords.
(Then again sales don't count now, mirite?!)

I've always wanted to play that one, being quite an RPG fan and all. *looks up the score* Thanks for the recommendation, will include it on the 'must buy' list.
