They're relying on word of mouth which...could work, we'll see.
Better than Sony putting out stupid commercials like that creepy PS3 baby.

i go to school in lubbock, the taco bell promotion boxes were sold out throughout the whole town, you heard me right, they ran out of ps vita 5 dollar boxes in the whole city for a while and then you have the commericals with sackboy and all that, i think people know about it already.
[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]Don't forget PS Move. That has been quite a huge failure as wellNot much one can expect when they failed in the marketing for the past 3 systems they released.

since when is selling over 8 million units a huge failure?
That just struck me too. I was hoping that they were holding back for a Superbowl ad, but they didn't. Unless Vita billbords start sprouting like weeds all over the place a week before it launches then this launch is going to be... bad.
So is Mountain Dew any different?and who in their right mind even wants their product associated with taco bell?
hey gamers! here is a big ol' mouthfull of shyt! now think about our game system!!!!
who's the brainiac that came up with that one?
Riverwolf007
Face it both Taco Bell and Mountain Dew are associated with the 13-34 year old male demographic. The same demographic that is attracted to Halo and the same demographic that might be interested in the Vita.
It isn't bad marketing at all.
Live in Canada, don't think I've seen an ad for it at all.
my non-gamer friends never even heard of it.
not that it matter how much they market it, this thing is gonna die pretty fast.
Sony's marketing has always sucked. This is no surprise lol.Haziqonfire
o yeah, remember the ps3 baby ad's, talk about WTF

I've noticed, like, what's up with that? The taco bell commercial says "because everyone wants a Playstation Vita" but no one even knows what it is it seems like. Sony need to promote this bad boy, EVERYWHERE. They should have had a super bowl commercial, they should have been running ads since the middle of January maybe. Everyone on the planet should know what it is before it launches, then everyone will want it.
Sony dropped the ball here, and I don't know why they thought that would be OK.
The lack of marketing is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the amount of reasons why the Vita will fail.PillyChickle
Yeah. Sony is making a very big mistake on that part. If Vita bombs hard, it will probably cost them dearly.

What's the Vita? New Sony console or something?BadoshIt's the thing at the end of your shoelaces, that everyone seems to forget about. :)
They have a commercial for the Taco Bell ad....aaand that's about it.The only ad I heard of was the Taco Bell from the radio. Other then that I didn't see any ads.
klusps
The only commercials I have seen at all is the Tack Bell commercials. So yeah I agree. Sony has completely failed at marketing the Vita.AmazonTreeBoaNot that I disagree with their failed marketing, but I must admit, every time I see that sack boy in the taco bell ads, it makes me want the vita more and more, if only it was a launch title.
Yeah, about two years ago.I thought they hired that Marcus kid or even Kevin Butler to advertise?
gago-gago
lol. So can you agree with me about the 3G Vita then Charizard? :P
Anyway, I'm sure people know it exists. They just don't want one.
