Why are you being so harsh at Sony for giving its consumers what they wanted? The Sony fanbase wanted ingame music, in game XMB, some kind achievment system.

So Sony is wrong for trying to satisfy their consumers?

MS copied Sony's idea of having a console, having controllers, Playstation has had rumble in three gens of consoles. They copied Sony's idea for using DVDs. They copied Sony's idea of having an "OS". They copied analog joysticks. They copied something from every great game out there, and guess what? NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!

MS took all the best ideas they could and built a console around it. Sony did it to SEGA. Sega did it to Nintendo. Nintendo did it to Atari. Microsoft did it to Apple. Wtf. It's the way this business works. I would venture an opinion though that Sony has contributed a hell of a lot more originality than XBox has in it's foray into gaming. Sony will take a chance on something new (Blu-ray) while MS will sit on the fence and offer you "options" in case it fails. They want to be able to distance themselves.

I'm not really sure but you may be correct about Socom's time line, at least it's very close either way. Socom had the ranking feature simular to what M$ has now with it's achievments. And every Socom game added more little rewards to each game if the gamer would try to unlock these rewards.

Dethroned? Last I checked, the PS3 has been outselling the 360 world wide since launch, AND it has outsold the 360 in its main region (NA) for the last 4/5 months so far this year.

Saying the 360 has dethroned anything is like saying smoeone having a headstart in a race is winning while completely ignoring the fact that the person "losing" is actually running a much faster time.

that doesn't make sense dude, even if you are running slower, you can still win the race? so yes you can ignore the fact that someone else is faster than you if you pass the finish line first, the fastest or the best don't always win, so please use something else to explain what you mean.

If you knew anything about races, it goes by time. The best time wins. You may have noticed that in longer races, the runners are staggered and create the appearance of being ahead...only once they make it past the final turn does the truth come out and you see who is REALLY the better runner.

Just because you are in front of the pack, doesn't mean you are winning. You may have just been lapped.

the best time does not always win, if you give a car a head start on a 3 lap race and give that car a one lap lead, even if you are going much faster, it does not guarantee that you will catch them and win.

even if you give child a half a block lead to run to the corner, it doesn't mean you will pass him by the time he gets there, even if you run faster.

so i still say, what you said makes no sense.:D:P
