I doubt 10 million PS3's were actually sold worldwide last year. Why, you ask? Now, this is just what I heard, and I'm not saying it's true, but I've heard the exact same thing from multiple people. You see, from what I hear, when PS3's are shipped to stores, it's said that Sony counts each unit SHIPPED as a unit SOLD. Again, this is just something I heard from several GameStop managers. I'm not saying it's true, but if managers at 4 different Gamestops tell you the exact same thing regarding this matter, then it kinda makes you lean toward believing what they say is true.
BTW I hope everyone wanting a price cut reads and remembers that last sentence in the first post. NO PRICE CUT IS COMING! If you want a PS3, pay $400!
[QUOTE="djsifer01"]Yes it would not be logical for Sony to drop the price. I dont see a price drop for the PS3 ever. If you want cheaper, better entertainment get a 360.WilliamRLBakerfixed that for ya.you do know that the ps3 offer WAY more than the 360 for entertainment. It's just the gaming department that the 360 owns, but as a entertainment value as a whole. The ps3 takes the cake

The ps3 takes the cake But video GAME consoles......is about GAMING. Might wanna get that right before you put your hand in another cookie jar ;) Not saying Sony doesnt have great games, or a great lineup, im just saying almost 2 years before your first "must have" title, just GIVES your competitors the victory. Sony shouldve released a PS2 HD, with "Playstation 3" slapped on it, and they wouldve won this gen hands down.[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"][QUOTE="djsifer01"]Yes it would not be logical for Sony to drop the price. The production cost are around 440$ a consoleDoes anybody know the production costs for the PlayStation 3? If it's still $850 as some people say, then maybe Sony are right to keep the price high. It's hard to imagine Sony selling the PS3 at such a collosal loss when they are already haemorraging money as it is.
What I can't, for the life of me, understand is why Sony feel this is suddenly a good time to expand their product line in the portable market. This isn't going to help them.

Tsk Tsk, when will Sony learn...

The same time their fanboys get a clue or when the Cubs win the World Series....

If videogame consoles were only about gaming then that's all they would do is play video games but that's as likely as buying a cell phone that just made phone calls, Sony changed all that when they added a DVD player in the PS2 and it worked, which is why they did it again with blu ray. I rather have one console that does several things than 10 appliances that only do one.[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"] fixed that for ya.navyguy21

I guess i'll start with the biggest flaw in your post 1st.[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"] fixed that for ya.navyguy21
1. You say that console is about gaming. Well you are partially right here. While gaming is a console sole priority, it's not the ONLY priority. M$ showed us this by incorporating Netflicks, Twitter and Facebook apps to the 360;)
2. You state that it took the ps3 nearly 2 years to get it's 1st killer app (i made a mistake. This is your biggest screw up in your post). Well if you're replying to MGS4, that game came out in june of 08. The ps3 came out in nov of 06. How do you get nearly 2 years from that equation?:| If anything, it's ALOT closer to 1.5 years and the ps3 had a very well balanced line-up before, it just wasn't bragging material, but most of the 07 games was good if not great.
So in conclusion, i was wrong. You didn't have "so many" flaws in your post. Just the little number of flaws you had in your post was big flaws;)
