"Sony is going to own in a year time, when they get all these top game games"

Am I the only one sick of hearing all this stuff. The fact is sony need to get thier act together now. Not in 6 months now. While people can say all this awsome stuff what the ps3 can do the fact is its not doing it and belive it or not M$ and and nintendo are not going to be twiddling thier thumbs waiting for sony to catch up. Seriously get it together.

You are wasting your breath my friend...It must be the heat making the cows more dillusional than usual but the boards have been flooded today with Sony fanboys acting as if the PS3 is kicking ass and taking names. I guess the euphoria will wear off after the holiday 07' season when the Wii and 360 are going head to head fighting for dominance while the PS3 is preparing to get ready to show its potential...(yes Im aware of the bad grammar!)

Game On...

I've noticed that myself. In bovine country the PS3 is always sitting pretty, apparently.

Sony doesn't push 3rd parties to release their games faster... unlike Nintendo's track record of pushing devs around.

Sitting pretty, plenty of exclusive games available, 100% dev loyalty, systems sold out globally, best online on earth, top notch controller..the list goes on. Its to the point where im sure Sony is shocked/amazed at the blind loyalty towards the PS3.....

Sony will likely not survive this gen - but if they do they'll surely be destroyed by the next MS console which is due before 2010.

they're strategy is just way too old school - they're working on an 8-9 year life cycle when MS has said the 360 is on a 4-6 year cycle. Sony just can't afford to keep up.

You know when I last heard stuff like that? With the Nintendo 64. We all know how that turned out.

ive heard the exact opposite - and i've been working on the sidelines of the industry for many years now. nintendo was a little more strict with quality protocol (i.e. bad titles just didn't see the light of day) but I've heard some stories of some pretty brutal clashes between Sony and 3rd party devs over the years.

the whole industry is like that though, just some stories stand out more than others.

Microsoft's great tactic which I applaud is releasing the X-box 360 before the PS3.

I am just sharing myopinion hear but if they were both released at the same time I thinkthe PS3 would be winning in sales 3 to 1. They would be only Nintendo and Sony up there....

Just my thoughts....

agreed - which is why MS is kind of covertly planning to do it again, but with a larger gap - possibly 2 years. and the brilliant bit of the plan is this will happen shortly after PS3 gets the games everyones waiting for like FF and MGS.... i think it will definitely put Sony completely out of the picture in North America.

Yes, MS was aware of the loyalty the industry has for Sony, so to prevent being caught in the hype wave of the PS3 launch MS launched early. Honestly what devs, producers or casual gamer would have gave the 360 a chance if they had the same launch window as the PS3? It would have been a repeat performance of the DC versus the PS2 in terms of when the smoke clears from the Sony launch, no one would care about the false promises, they would have already purchased the system....leaving the 360 in dust wake of the storm to die slowly.

I hope that doesn't happen as (i will admit it) i'm a big Sony fanboy (Sony - t.v, car radio, house radio/cd player, mp3, alarm clock.....) And I really think it is possibly for them to destory Sony by using that tactic again but if that happens I think it will damage the industry even for people who are MS devoted...

And even for people who hate Sony

Plus I hope MS dont rush the product again so people dont get faulty products.

I really want them to but I'm not sure Sony will be able to survive till PS5. Microsoft want to win and will do anything too.

They will put allot of money into. And Sony doesn't have that amount of money to battle.

The BIG always win.

I really do believe Sony are putting up one hell of a fight and I will stick with them to the end...

Doesnt mean I wont get an X-box though maybe in the future.

4 years is not good for anybody, especially when a company just kills support. sony talks about supporting their consoles with games for 10 years, not holding the next gen console off for 10 years.

Am I the only one who doesn't see anyone praising the ps3. And that all these comments and topics about how bad cows are, most likely are more populated on system wars then this cow praising? I'm tired about the very rare topics bashing the xbox 360, but am not tired of the same exact garbage that people bash about the ps3. I feel like in here I'm living in a complete different universe because I rarely see the stuff you guys cry about.

sony pulled a nintendo and messd up bad. the N64 would have killed the PS had it a CD romthat move by nintendo still has me thinking why. but now sony thinks they can pull a 3DO and charge twice the money that the PS2 came out but the casual gamer just wont up that kind of money for someting they might playonce aweek. That is whow it is

sony choose the best format they thought would be better back then and they are doing it now. they did it with the ps2 also. nintendos mistakes were worse because they basically were telling all 3rd parties to kiss off. that is when nintendo went all the way kiddie, and abandon the people that grew up with them, for the pokemon crowd.

Totally agreed, Microsoft saw the opportunity and took it. They found their plan and they struck SONY right at the weak spot. But to be honest their tactics I see similar to the Dreamcast. Try to make you library look diverse *even though it really isn't* by hyping a game in every genre, and stricly talk about the games so that the users will look at the rival and realize their false promises. The problem with the Dreamcast was SEGA didn't have enough money, and by the time it took into effect it was discountinued *the Dreamcast started selling as much as it use to 3 months after it was discountinued*.

Also another huge factor is Nintendo, Nintendo with the DS has shown that SONY's games are all presentation and hype with no substance with the PSP, yes the GS says different *GameRankings doesn't* but the people along with the industry constantly state that the DS has the greater software. It seems that Nintendo is mirroring that with the Wii, and though now it isn't apparent, they have almost 50 titles in development for the Wii this financial year, and with only 13 announced who's to say what the others will be?
