Cows are on top of the world because they have one good game now and they managed to sell well for ONE WEEK in japan

The reality is that their library of exclusives (or should I say exclusive :lol: ) still sucks and their console is still in third place world wide. Their games are getting delayed on a weekly basis and future games continue to get cancelled

Will it surpass the 360 sales probably by the end of next year? I'd say yes.

This gen has been "troubled" for Sony but not the disaster some make it out to be.

This month the PS3 will sell 1 million more units thanks to MGS4..

The PS3 is doing way better then the 360 when it first launched..And this year its going to take it too..

People is over estimating Sony.The want the PS3 to last for a decade and while MIcrosoft pulling the plug on the 360 in 4 years...Im glad i got a ps3 its future proof..

I laugh when I read statments now that say "MGS4 is not enough"..........those are the same people that said MGS4 is the most overated series....it will not even come close to a million sales the first week......wont' sale consoles.........will flop hard.

Now that it's an EPIC game that is doing everything the Lems said it couldn't.......now you come back with "it's still not enough". Which btw I agree with, this is a starting point. The first step is the most important and this game basically put Sony on the right track. Now all they have to do is follow it with more games.

btw RE5 rumored timed exclusive was denied by the vice president of Capcom. I think that rumor has offically been debunked until an offical announcement. Wanna bet who put that rumor out their.....MS hoping to put doubt into gamers about the PS3 during a time Sony has one of the most successful exclusive this gen.

That is very true actually. I own a 360 and i enjoy it very much, but the moment the ps3´s price is cut, am buying one inmediatly along with MGS4 which am dying to play =). And am also willing to bet that if the price cut does occur, the sales will indeed EXPLODE, and that is no understatement.

Microsoft beat them to the punch. People don't understand that ms doesnt care if they are 2nd or 3rd. They have the money to waste. This hurts sony so much more. Sony is banking on mgs and it is not nearly enough. By the time the ps3 has a decent library the new xbox will be out. Sony will be left like hillary clinton milking as much out of the ps3 as they can. They can't afford to scrap it like microsoft did tot he original xbox and beat microsoft to the punch again.

I'm not condoning microsoft either. I don't like them. But this is what they do. They are bullies in the business market. I think sony's hope is that they find their nitch as a high end system and keep people coming back but where are the games? Sony may become the mac to microsofts pc but it's still going to be microsoft. I'm also not saying the ps3 wont be a good system and won't find their nitch, but they are losing more and more games. Microsoft did the same thing to apple. It's bill gates business plan of world domination and it's unfair because they have the biggest wallet and can do whatever they want.

The 360 was made to beat out the PS2.....which it did, but barely. The 360 wasnt made to beat out the PS3, so yes, the 360 needs to step its game up. The PS3 is going to be around for a long time and by the time the new XBOX comes out with games to play, it's be so far behind that its not never funny. Even if the new XBOX does come out, i bet you that it wont be BC. The XBOX was garbage anyway, so people could care less about those games, but the 360 is a different story. People would still play those games.

So explain to me again why Sony is in trouble????

Yikes... MGS4 fanboys are getting nearly as bad as how Halo 3 fanboys were.

All I'm saying is people who see game systems as a longterm investment are kidding themselves. The best case for sony is they find a nitch as a high end system and keep games and haev enough games to have a nice system that people will want to pay for if they have money and want a slightly nicer system with the same games and a few exclusives. But for the mainstream consumer microsoft has the better gameplan. It will be out first. It will remain ahead of the curve and it will have more support and games. It might be thrown together a bit and not as refiend but it will be the console of choice ultimately for most people and it already is in the US by far. Sony is losing more and more games and timed exclusives man. MGS is not going to cut it for sony. Especially considering this is mgs's last hurrah. They need more than that and if they dont find other games people want to play and pay for they are going to be in trouble and like MGS this is also going to be sony's last hurrah. Walker34

If MGSIV shifted so many consoles, there's no doubt that GT5 and FFXIII will do so, in a much larger fashion too.

MS is in this to make money, like Sony and Nintendo. It took them several years but now they are finally out of the red, I really don't see them comming out with another console soon and risk dipping their division in red again.

And they do not have an ilimited ammount of cash. If the game s divisions stop being profitable, you can bet the stockholders are gonna force MS to shut it down.(but I don't see this becoming true in the near future)

of the really well-known franchises, only MGS is out yet. you even forgot to mention Tekken 6 there and Shin Megumi Tensei, which sells a lot in japan.

almost all Sony's "weapons" are still not out... yet, the most praised and better known franchises of the 360 are all out already...

I forgot the PS3 outsold the 360 on the GTA IV month, oh wait....

I don't think Sony is in trouble, they just launched the biggest game they've got up their sleeves, and it's selling well. Also, people are using the PS3 as a cheap Blu-Ray player, so no, I don't think SONY is in trouble. If anything it's the companies working for Sony because they might not be making money. I think this because of the time and money needed to make a PS3 game is MUCH higher than it used to be with the PS2. That combined with the fact that the PS3 is following the footsteps of the PSP (media and game console), maybe people aren't buying it for games, but for the Blu-Ray player. Maybe that's why Sony is losing more "exclusives", the companies need to make up the money that they're losing and are doing it by going to the 360. Maybe if sales decline, Sony might start to lose third-party support. When that happens, then we can say Sony is in trouble. We'll see how that theory holds up at E3.

I seem to remember Microsoft consumers making "Sony's gonna fail" threads every other day just a matter of months ago before more PS3's features came out.

Now it seems to be happening in the midst of one of Sony's successes. How odd.
