Sony Kills Rumor: No PS3 Price Cuts

Are they simply confident in their console or can they just not afford a price cut? (Pun intended)

Edit: Of course, they could also just be lying-- they ARE winning over people with recent releases such as Yakuza 3 and Killzone 2.

we can just say "its one game.....get some variety allready!!!" and "PSN is not better then LIVE just because its free. Far from it".

PC > consoles yes, but that just doesnt concern the lemmings.

Nah, 400 dollars for a gaiming console is too much. Laziness or work has nothing to do with it. Just because you can afford it, doesn't mean its worth the price. Complaining seems like the best alternative.

I'm not saying they will or won't, but they probably have taken notice to the large influx of people claiming Sony will be slashing prices in April or w/e. Naturally you wouldn't want people thinking your product was on the verge of a price cut otherwise nobody would buy it until it comes, so they have to deny it in order to maintain a consistent sale rate per week.

lol i love this argument, when mine broke down i was moving house, so i sent it away before i moved and 6 days including weekend it arrived at my new place. If you think you had trouble i hate to think what changes you made in your life in the same week to warrant that response.

believe me i love the playstation brand....but with me having a 360 and paying full price for games and other things i don't have the funds to buy it....right now i'm about to put down 80 bucks for the RE5 Limited Edition

Well, its not like Sony would confirm, but they could've stayed mum on the issue and just wait a couple months. But perhaps the sales they were losing from the alleged price cut was too steep, so they had to lie and say there was none coming. Then there's the fact that they're just now turning a profit, or the fact that every analyst and their mom is saying to expect one in April... Ahh, its just too complicated!!!:cry:

I don't believe it for a second. Today at the store there were tons of PS3 games and about 90% of them have been slashed in price, even MGSIV. In this ever-worsening economy I think all games and systems are going to have to come down in price and soon.

People are not buying nearly as many cds, dvds, games, systems etc. People are selling cars left and right and giving up on buying luxury items. People are getting scared to spend their money and I don't blame them.
