I think that Sony & Nintendo are arch rivals, personally. They have that history that goes all the way back to the failed SNES CD-Rom, and then they were locked in a two-party console war between Playstation & N64.
"zomg the Playstation, I am so pwned" Oh wait... the point is that every company stumbles eventually. Atari, Nintendo, Sega, and now Sony - stumble, stumble, fall. The Playstation brand will die, and this is the generation it will do so. Going from some insane 70%+ market share to third place will teach Sony a valuable lesson about market research. If you do buy a PS3, you're telling Sony "I will pay any price for a brand name, please, continue to make expensive products as Trojan Horses for your other technologies (Blu-Ray), claiming they matter, only for 95% of games to go third party and thus completely make Blu-Ray meaningless (since they're developing for the Xbox 360s DVD-9 as well).

Even if the first xbox had dmc, ff and mgs it would still be what it is today.

Well, that first statement is probably true. If the first Xbox had all those titles (it did have MGS2, but not 3 or 1 - as the GC did), it wouldn't have magically sold another 60 million units. True. However, Microsoft has learned from a lot from what they did right and what they did wrong with the Xbox and, imo, really done some great things with the 360. Will DMC4 make that big of a difference in 360 sales? No, but its just another reason NOT to buy a PS3 versus a lesser expensive 360.

Sony has become so amazingly disconnected from reality they pretty much deserve to fail this gen from their own short sighted stupidity. Perhaps the PS4 will be ok.Â
