Microsoft, without question. Nintendo basically threw hardcore gamers on the back burner, and Sony has been slow but sure to roll out stuff for their fanbase.
Microsoft however has spent alot of money to secure 3rd party exclusives, DLC, or just make former Sony exclusives multiplat (whether or not you agree with how "ethical" this is) and have really thought outside the box with things like the movie market, Netflix, XBLA, etc, etc, etc.
Hello Sony make faulty hardware to the first ps1 and ps2 and not to mention sony laptopssony
does more than the less what microsoft does, exept doesnt give overpriced online service and accesories and doesnt make faulty hardware
nintendo doesnt care about their fans.......... well way less than the others do

as for who serving their fans all three Microsoft,Nintendo,Sony
[QUOTE="Verge_6"]Nintendo sure as hell isn't, leaving their 'hardcore' gamers out in the rain without so much as giving them an umbrella. Or a cardboard box to sleep in.AlexSays
Nintendo did give their hardcore fans a cardboard box!
So please do your research next time. :P
Well played, sir.
Now Nintendo, as far as the MAIN fanbase that has always been there for them, I think they are way out in left field. Fans have been clamoring for "hardcore" games and Nintendo seems fit to answer them with, "Wii Sports 2!"7CloudStrife7
Hate to break this to you, but the MAIN fanbase for the Wii is not the fanbase that has "always been there for them" Nintendo's main fanbase is exactly who they are currently catering to. the maybe 30% or so Wii owners that can be considered hardcore are not the MAIN fanbase. And by the end of this generation all Wii owners, whether traditional by todays standards, or traditional by the current "Casual" moniker, will all be considered TRADITIONAL. When it comes down to it, Nintendo IS serving their fanbase the best, and that is why it continues to sell. Microsoft and Sony simply continue scraping by on a dying breed of gamer by force feeding HD and multimedia features down our throats. I wouldn't call that appeasing the masses, but rather trying to rekindle what spark the "hardcore" gamer may have left. By the end of this generation, we won't be the hardcore gamer anymore.

How exactly did Nintendo serve the causals best? Nintendo went and gave the causals overpriced SD cards, routers and keyboards.
i was holding off this gen for the ps3. i bought it and was very dissapointed with the games (or lack of) in the begining which made me buy a 360. in the matter of 2 years i had 2 rrods......after #2, i stopped supporting MS. the last 360 game i bought was halo 3. i ran my ps3 now 3-4x as much as i did the 360 and it never crapped out on me. what this shows me is that sony decided to design a console that would last and to me, thats more important. not like getting a head start to turn a profit on the expence of the consumer.
all in all, i think sony and MS tied for seving their fans. they both have their pros and cons. it just depends on which pros and cons are more important or non important to you.
Why not just ask which console everyone prefers? Basically any question involving MS, Sony or Nintendo will come down to which fanboy answers. In other words fanboys are incappable or giving honest subjective answers and would rather talk about how great their console of choice is.
IMO Sony has done nothing to but throw a BR player, that happens to play games, in the faces of it's fanbase. It's only objective this gen was to win a format war and NOT sell a gaming machine.

True, but you can also argue that Sony losing exclusives and MS pulling third parties to their platform as a more service to 360 fans. PS3 didnt lose by having Tekken go multiplat, but 360 owners won a hell of alot.
I love the Wii, but how can anyone say Nintendo is serving their fans best this gen?
I think it's Microsoft. Sony hasn't shown much by letting exclusives slip away.
Add in the deal with Netflix, and it's clear Microsoft aims to please.
AlexSays
PS3 owners are still able to play them. I don't see how thats bad fan treatment on their part
overall they r all bad, wii changed to kiddy, sony cahnged to too expensive, adn MS make a faulty hardware
but if i had to pick i say sony bc the price wont always be high

cant argue with that my friend. ms is stealing exclusives left and right from sony and 360 owners (which i am) are getting their moneys worth. i just dont like how ms does business. their way to corperate. (yea yea sony is to but ms is worse IMHO)
but hey, when it comes to competition between 2 powerhouse corperations, the consumer always wins. one could argue that the reason both services keep getting better and better is because of competion. where would the ps3 be without the xbox or the xbox be without the ps3??
i welcome competitionthe better 360 does, the better ps3 does, the better 360 does and so on and so fourth. while we are all arguing over which console is better, what we should be doing is ejoying what their giving us.
from launch to now , both consoles came a long way.
as an overall, fans of which console do you think are happier this gen?
Mystery_Writer
even with the whole rrod thing, i voted MS, cuz they focusing on the games and thats what matters most to me and most of the "hardcore" that i know
[QUOTE="Faulttt"][QUOTE="Steppy_76"][QUOTE="SolidGame_basic"]Thanks for the laugh dude, I needed that.Sony
We get free online If they felt they could charge for it they would.
We get constant updates, patches, and expansion packs for games Umm, so does the 360...and the 360's semiannual updates usually contain more than the whole of the PS3 updates in that same time.
Our hardware doesn't fail us(as much) The RROD is also becomming less and less frequent
We also get a nice bluray player and the ability to play in 1080p You do have the BR player, but the 360 was doing 1080P before the PS3 came out.
We get a rechargable controller That IS nice, though it sucks if the battery dies after a year.
Wireless internet access Hey, the extra money you paid had to go for SOMETHING. Oh, and I can turn my 360 wireless for 30 bucks.
My 60gb rocks because I have complete BC with ps1/ps2 gamesAnd removing that from later revisions certainly shouldn't be considered serving their fans now should it?
We also have the greatest amount of 1st party developers and yet the fewest AAA first party games...ironic isn't it?
Without Sony, who would push the industry to greater high definition gaming? MS who came out with their HD console a year earlier.

im being honest, that was the WORST quote fix ive ever seen in my life
I second that, seriously that was awful.
Anyways i think it might be sony also
seriously while reading the red, all i kept thinking was "are you cereal?" haha
I have both a Xbox 360 and PS3, For me it is the PS3 because I am absolutely sick of how bad Gears and Halo 3 are. They ARE the most overhyped games I have ever played.
Gears of war is plain typical and boring, its reppetetive and you fight the exact same locust soldier throughout the game who looks exactly the same as the locust soldier you fought earlier and the locust soldier you will fight after. Every guy looks like a complete idiot with there "Im supertough" armor being so damn oversized. The main character you play is more typical then the chair youre sitting on. At the start you see him in a small dark cell being rescued by one of his war buddies, you finally walk out into the light and the first thing you get shocked by is the fact that you look like a cross between a idiot bodybuilder and a illegal immigrant - stupid, you also look wartorn and after abit of walking you see that everyone else in that prison appears to hve been skinned alive and hanged by chains - typical. In terms of gameplay Gears of war is just boring, I found absolutely no enjoyment from it and didnt even bother to try it online or get past the first level. No health bar lying around?, ofcourse not instead you get the dummest idea to date - a red circle in the middle of the screen which happens to look alot like the gears of war logo.
Halo 3 on the other hand was OK. The start was boring and I couldnt help feel that it was exactly the same as Halo 2 but with updated graphics. A few levels later and I was actually enjoying it as Master chief(No idea why he's called that) was fightin both the Flood and Prophet truth. When I had finally finished the game my initial reaction was that it was pretty boring but still slightly enjoyble. Only a weel later some of my freinds came over and one of them had a Xbox 360, two controllers and Halo 3 which gave us a combined total of 4 controllers, two xbox 360's and two Halo 3 games, So we brought in couple of chairs, loads of fast food and coke, another TV and connected all this together into the living room. We set up system link and pretty much went crazy playing Halo 3 and talking trash and eating junk food for the next hour and a half. Overall I'd say Halo 3 was pretty good but it did not hit my singleplayer expectations.
EDITS: A few spelling mistakes.

True, that OP seriously did fail :PMS or Nintendo
Nintendo's high-profile-this-is-why-you-buy-a-nintendo-console games have mostly been AAA or higher titles when you look at their gamerankings. They get lackluster 3rd party support, but you'd have to go back 15 years to find a Nintendo console that had even decent 3rd party support.
MS...
Last gen their only issue was that they didn't get jpn developed games and that there were alot of titles that were PS3 exclusive. MS has kept everything they were good at and snatched away every PS2-era franchise the PS3 had. They also basically set up a situation where basically no 3rd party in their right mind wouldn't make games for their system.
Sony on the other hand lost their primary advantage (super hq exclusive games), they aren't securing timed exclusives or willing to spend any money to get better games/content on the system. Outside of the oddball MGS4 that stayed exclusive, their lineup is pretty much identical to the competition, except their system is twice as expensive.
I'm going with MS on this one. I live in Europe and both companies treat europeans like garbage. Sony just a little bit more

obviously the 360. excellent games all round. only big problem being rrod.
with m$ fixing the rrod, most people would rather have games and deal with the inconvenience rather than get a ps3.

Um, I'm not trying to be a fanboy but 360 has all the bolded things too and the last statement is strange because the Xbox basically invented HD gaming.

You're right, I saw that after I had already posted and I was too lazy to worry about fixing it.
I think Microsoft has done more for their fans by getting those exclusives from Sony. But it doesn't really affect people who can already play the game. :P
