You're right. Those three games are the only high scoring games on the DS.

i have the PSP though mine needs to be replaced cuz of scratched screen and missing joystick (hah) but i kind of agree.
The PSP still has the best graphics though ...the DS's graphics are just ugly i am sorry, however the 3DS will solve this problem.
The "Next" PSP should have a much better analog joystick...and a bit better graphics too AND perhaps even cooler a way to output it into a HDMI slot or a VGA slot so i can play it on the computer moniter.
as ill be honest. i dont go out that much and i prefer a nice bigger screen then a handheld screen. but they can still be cool.
but yeah the PSP GO is a bit of a joke...only good for newcomers...but think about this? you cant buy any PSP games Used in stores for it ...and you cant import any cool japanese psp games for it too! plus the screen is a tad smaller!
The PSP GO is a nice machine but Sony is insane to be pricing it over $200. They seem to be in denial of how many people are using idevices for gaming. It's rare that I actually see someone playing on a PSP but I see people playing on iphones all the time.
I have zero faith in Sony when it comes to portables. Even if they came out with a new system, would anyone care? Kids like the DS and people who have iphones don't want to carry another device. Maybe they should work with phone companies because I'm really not seeing much of a market for a new PSP.
Imagine if Sony gonna make a 120hz LCD monitored PSP that comes with a small and light Polarized Glasses that makes PSP a really 3D to make things pop out of screen as well as make a switch to make that screen uses the same 3DS technology to have glassless 3D depth effect. 64GB internal Memories. and blahhhhh :Dnewown
Ithis technologi is comonly known lol ^^; again 3DS is not first device using this display, 3D cameras was first. This still need to come to 3DTVs
Months ago I bought a DS for my little brother. I liked the stylus mode, but in the end the games were too cartoonish.
I have a PSP (first version) and the games (FF7 Crisis Core, GOW, etc.) are just FAR superior compared to DS.
So NO, I'm NOT going to replace my PSP, not even for the DS 3D. 8)

Heh, my little ferrets stole the nub from my PSP-1000. Been meaning to get a replacement on eBay.

So you're saying their superior just because of the art direction?
Well in any event, I think you should take a look at some of the games in development for the 3DS.
[QUOTE="bowser3"][QUOTE="RTUUMM"]They can kill the PSP once the PSP2 comes out but for now the PSP is doing great. I dont get why everyone hates it, its a great solid handheld gaming device, with some pretty good games. Yeah I know everyone hear loves the DS and the DS has all the best games and the PSP has no games. >_> The DS is only good if you like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon, and I dont like any of those.RTUUMM
Nope, the DS is only good if you want to play alot of high quality games.
Yeah cuz the PSP has none Ah yeah it does let me name a few Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness and Disgaea: Dark Hero Days and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Silent Hill: Origins and GOW and etc plus more coming out like The 3rd Birthday and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. (you see wat I mean people)They needed to introduce a PSP2 at this E3 to steal some thunder from 3DS, as it stands Nintendo won E3 and has people very interested in 3DS while Sony only talked about already released games for PSP and a camera peripheral, which people don't seem to care about. It feels like Sony doesn't care much about the portable market because they're doing a terrible job just trying to catch up to Nintendo. I'd say they need to up Nintendo and introduce a PSP2 that does 3D, great games and more, something else, if they just copy PSP or even 3DS, it'll still be playing catch up. themyth01To me, that's precisely why Sony did the right thing this E3 by letting the attention go to Nintendo. The next E3 the attention will all be on Sony, and they will have a chance to show off something unique. The key is that developer support will come over if developers feel they can accomplish something with the PSP2 that they can't with the 3DS. If Sony wants to go toe-to-toe with the 3DS, the "PSP2" should have all the same basic features as the 3DS, as well as something special. Now that Sony has an idea of what the full feature set of the 3DS is, they can make sure their next system exceeds it (and yes, to a certain degree, copies it), without necessarily going overboard on the specs, because I'm sure Sony would like to sell a system that at the very least breaks even upon launch.
That said, I still think they should just release a gaming-centric smartphone though, because handhelds have much more youth appeal than they have adult appeal (outside of Japan). And youth appeal is not one of Sony's strengths.

Then why do you think DS beaten PSP with near GBA hardware then art direction? it's all about games and this is his opinion :)
The console is flaged with pirates.I really dont understand why PSP is not more successful, its great system with great games but something does not really appeal the people.

Near GBA? The DS may not be at the level of the PSP, but it's a significant step ahead of the GBA. Your post doesn't make it clear how that would relate to art direction though. But regardless I'm wondering how does art direction determine what is a good game? Shouldn't that really be a matter of gameplay?
And then there is the fact that many games already shown on the 3DS do take a more realistic art direction. Just take a look at Dead or Alive, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Ridge Racer, Samurai Warrior, and Chaos Theory. So even if one simply cannot stand cartoonish looking games there is still plenty that this system will offer them.
The PSP has actually been doing very well for them.
EDIT: Just found out that the 3DS is getting RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Those are just images, they DON'T really confirm that the games WILL look like that. Also, there is NO mention of gameplay. So we really can't know how these games are going to turn out until we see them in action. 8)Those are just images, they DON'T really confirm that the games WILL look like that. Plenty of those games were confirmed to be running in real time at E3, even if they weren't all playable.
And you didn't answer my question...
60 - 70 millions sold says no
the only thing leaving is the ds, because like always nintendo will abandon it now that the 3ds is here.
the 3ds could be a success we can't see now it depends on the pricing if they retail it at $300 plus it wont sell.
just remember as good as the ds is the high pricing of any system ruins it !
talk to the $600 ps3.
the games look good and I am interested but it also looks like alot of production value meaning nintendo will not want to sell at a loss so the 3ds will probably be expensive.
I think it tries too hard to be a console. Something it isn't. I'm sure the first thing people do when shopping for systems is see which one is the most like a handheld. /sarcasm I think it has more to do with advertising, Nintendo's reputation, and the casual market.[QUOTE="Bus-A-Bus"]
I really dont understand why PSP is not more successful, its great system with great games but something does not really appeal the people.

Like how now 3ds is going to have MGS3 port and looks like a kh port and a port/remake of OOT. Nintendo has the graphics and now its going to do the same thing. Yes it will have those uniqe type games, but it seems nintendo is going for console on handheld to with some games. So if your going to hate psp for that then hate the 3ds for that.
Methinks they're just gonna copy Nintendo this time.Fried_Shrimp
Like how nintendo now has a nub/stick like the psp OH NOES NINTENDO TEH COPY ITS THE DEVIL:roll:. Ugh.

OK, but I'm still sceptic about those games (I'll wait for their release to find out).About your question, graphic quality IS important in these days. That's the same reason why Nintendo wants to boost their graphic quality with the DS 3D. But like I said before, seeing is believing (we will know how those games will look like when they are released). And I'm not talking about the 3D effect but of a graphic quality that's more realistic and less cartoonish. 8)

i think when people bring up the "trying to be a console" argument its got more to do with things that consoles do that should not be in handhelds. for example the PSP (when it launched) had a bad battery life. a handheld must, without exception, have a good battery life. this is something ninty consistenly get right and their competitors get wrong. if performance must be sacreficed to significantly improve the battery life then so be it. the PSp also has loading times...some quite nasty. sony had to add extra ram for caching to get around the problem. loading times longer than 3-4 secs are not acceptable on a handheld. there fine on a console but not handhelds. a handheld must be built like a tank also. again sony got it wrong. they had that lovely screen...and nothing to protect it. style over practicality...not acceptable. ninty learned years ago to use a clamshell design. a few scratches on the outer casing are nothing.....scratches on the screen are nasty. also the PSP had moving parts..the disc drive. not a good idea. it remains to be seen whether the 3DS will continue nintys traditions in the handheld market. we know itll have a clamshell design and that itll use 2GB (that gigabytes) carts. in terms of battery life and overall durability though..we know nothing. but its doubtful that ninty will mess up on these fronts. the level of hrosepower, in grand scheme of things, is still pretty small and improvements in hardware design and manufacturing wil ensure that ninty can keep the battery life up. well as long as that 3d screen doesnt eat the battery (the screens on any portable device tent to be the biggest drain). in terms of games..the DS has its fair share of console ports like chrono trigger and such like. there all fine as you can flip down the lid to pause the game and the DS lasts for ages in standby. theres nothing wrong with console like games on a handheld as long as the player can stop playing very quickly without loosing progress. the PSP has the same feature i believe. but the deivce itslef needs to be a practical portable handheld..not a mini console. more on topic..i dont think sony really have the capacity to release and support a brand new PSP at the moment. there hemoraging money and they need o focus on making the best of what they have got at the moment.About your question, graphic quality IS important in these days. The best selling portable games are in 2D and I don't think most people care about having realistic 3D worlds when they are playing on the go. Sure the DS 3D is gaining a lot of excitement but it wasn't necessary for them to create. They could just keep making mario and zelda games for the DS.dr_jashugan
