Sony: No Definitive Plans To Continue The Resistance Franchise

As far as I am concerned, I can't bring myself to care much. The series is the very definition of generic mediocrity, so in my opinion, Sony will be doing a good thing if they stop investing in it and redirect resources towards something else, a fresh new IP perhaps, or the revival of something like Parappa or Jak.

We'll see, though.

The Resistance series was good but never great, I can't say i'm upset that it won't be continued.

Resistance 3 is one of the best FPS this gen, theres no point in continuing the series without Insomniac though.

Sony has a lot of exclusive that people simply don't care about. Every year its top selling games are 3rd partie games yet they keep making exclusives that don't sell well and end up in the bargain bin faster than you can say crap.

Resistance 1 and 2 were pretty good actually, overall I think the series is good. Resistance 3 was where they dropped the ball, they should just go back to Resistance 1 style, which IMO was amazing, it had these massive 40 player matches and really unique guns to use. It played similar to Halo somewhat but it was better.

I want Sony to keep making Killzone. It's the best online FPS I have ever played, and has hands down the best gameplay in ANY FPS out there. It's been quite successful, despite the hate it get's from jealous xbox fanboys on the net. The internet is just a platform for a small minority, it doesn't represent real life at all.

Sony should stick with it. Killzone 4 please! But make the storyline better this time.

I got a lot of enjoyment out of Fall of Man, 2 and 3. 3 in particular was my favorite, it's a really really good game. It has great gunplay, and a much darker and grittier tone. The death cries that the Chimera do when they die are insane. Resistance Burning Skies can't really be held against Insomniac since they didn't make it. I'm still considering picking up Burning Skies when it drops in price just so I can have all of the Resistance games.

You shouldn't go around calling other people idiots. You don't even take into consideration that there are a ton more multiplats than exclusives for the system to choose from. No kidding there's more high selling 3rd party games than 1st party. Plus, games like Uncharted have sold 17 million, God of War 3 at 5 million, you never, and I mean NEVER, know what you're talking about. Every post you submit is full of rubbish nonsense.

It was a good franchise. Good franchises don't get milked to death, though - they meet their end at the completion of a trilogy or w/e their intended run was.

Series was never above-average anyway.

If they feel the money could do better elsewhere, then good. Whatever they want to do is fine with me. They have earned my trust with the litany of fantastic titles they have given me the past 18 years.

One 1st party FPS is enough and i think KZ was the chosen one now they work on something from a different genre like an RPG since they are famous now or maybe make Demon's souls into a bigger franchise.

I consider most of high-rated Sony exclusive franchises heavily overrated,but still OK(played UC,KZ,inFamous,etc),but when it comes to Resistance,ugh,I hate it...

Very mediocre and bland shooters,especially the first one,with its lifeless,colorless visuals.The games have some interesting ideas (nice guns) to play around with,but I still find gameplay dreadfully boring...

Resistance 3 was the worst one of the main trilogy. I own all three of them and puts dozens of hours into the R:FoM and probably over 100 on R2. I played through R3 once in about 6 hours and the MP for maybe 5 and never wanted to play it again

I guess it depends on what your looking for. As far as multiplayer goes...K2>R2>K3>>>R1>>>>>>>>>R3.

Single player though, Resistance is much better. R3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>R2&R1>>>K2>K3.
