????. Just because people in Asia aren't aware of Halo, doesn't negate the fact that it is a gaming culture Icon. While the franchise may only be about 10 years old, it is a big success. Crash Bandicoot trumps Halo in every way? I'm not a huge Halo fanboy, but I do like the series, mostly for the intense single player experience, but to down play it because of its minor influence in Asia is incorrect.Their are a ton of games in the Asian market, that are huge over there, but don't make a dent in the North American market, simply because certain games appeal to certain audiences. I think Monster Hunter is slowly starting to pick up steam over here, while being huge over there. Last time I checked, I haven't seen people getting in line @ GAmestop for a midnight release of a Naughty Dog game, while everytime a Halo game is released, they have some kinda mega event. I like Naughty Dog, just don't think the Halo series should be discounted.Lol @ the guy saying Bungie's Halo is mroe iconic than Naughty Dog's games.
when i was still living in Asia, no one knew what Halo was. even up 'til now, not alot of people know about Halo or Master Chief. that\s why when i got here in North America i was amazed by how fanboys start spewing all these 'Halo pwnz!' stuff. when i first got my hands into it, i wasnt even impressed. i mean, Unreal Tournament was even better. and Team Fortress.
also, Naughty Dog's Crash Bandicoot in the PS1 trumps Halo in every way, let alone Crash + Jack & Daxter + Uncharted. at least in Asia, Crash Bandicoot was very popular. (and by Asia, i mean not just Japan, China, Korea. you know, Asia in its entirety).
and to the people claiming Valve is the best developer, i LOL. Valve hasnt done anything new or big for the last decade, ever since Half-Life.
their biggest games: Counter-Strike was a mod made by a bunch of guys (not Valve)
Team Fortress was also a mod written by a bunch of guys as well (i.e. not Valve)
Left 4 Dead was made by Turtle Rock (not Valve)
Portal was made by some students (i.e. not Valve)
even Day of Defeat wasn't made by Valve.
that's like saying Activision is great because they purchased Blizzard who made World of Warcraft, therefore, Activision made World of Warcraft. doesn't make any sense.
