Sony plans to take that content service beyond its gaming devices. Next month it will extend PSN to Bravia TVs, Blu-ray devices, and "all Windows-enabled PCs."

So basically PSN will be greater thanks to the power of Windows. I already use Windows PC to stream media to my PS3 but it's interesting to see this cooperation. To get the most of PSN, get a Windows PC and help MS. Are you on board?

companies like Sony and MS have always worked in projects together this isn't new at all (the cooperation), you can say that MS is helping Sony too but in the end both companies will win

Except for the fact that most people on this board or in general own a Windows-enabled PC, or wouldn't buy one just for this feature, therefore it won't help MS at all... Useless thread.

I'm sure this will boost sales for Sony VAIO N PCs. From Gamespot's MS CES coverage:

[7:21] Ryan Asdourian from the Windows 7 team comes up on stage to demonstrate his favorite PCs.

[7:22] One of them is the Sony VAIO N, which has a Blu-ray player built in and a touch-screen.

I'm not sure they have to work together, Windows is an open platform, Sony can put whatever they want on it and don't need any help or permission from Microsoft. Not saying their not working together but its not required.

Well, Sony makes nice Wintel laptops. For example, Sony's thin gaming laptop with ATI Radeon HD 4650 (VGN-FW4x and greater).

Depends on the spec, but the baseline GPU is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 in either 512MB GDDR3 or 1GB GDDR3. There's ATI Mobility Radeon HD 56x0 refresh. I do know ATI Mobility Radeon HD 56x0's TDP is about the same as ATI Mobility Radeon HD 46x0's TDP. It's unknown if Sony is going to fit in ATI Radeon HD 57x0.

yeah um, you can already stream your media server directly on PS3 from windows & watch all ur crap & listen to it to, so the co-operation between MS & Sony or between competition in general is nothing new. Its not like these companys are out to hurt each other. lol they are their own proprietary workforce looking to do whats best for the company theyve brought to life(cheeseball i know).

this is a money maker for both companies, that is what they like to do is make money. people sometimes loose sight of that when they are having their console battles. lol.

I mean it is not like Sony and Microsoft are enemies, They just compete heavily in the games market. Sony makes computers (good ones at that) if people have forgotten, and most of them are windows based.
