Gamers should care what place it is, that's why you lost so many exclusives. Demon's Souls is a joke compared to Final Fantasy, 360 owners have Lost Odyssey anyways. And Sony's first/second party is weak. They have no amazing games, just average ones.

In your opinion. I know that goes without being said but sometimes when people start parading around opinions as facts they need to be reminded of such things, if only to set the tone for the rest of the convo.

This coming from a neutral party. I can happily admit I enjoy all three of the current gen consoles. They all have something I think any gamer can enjoy. The PS3 and 360 to a greater extent over the Wii for me but that is another argument. :P

Gamers in general should be happy about the price cut. Now even more are going to be able to enjoy owning a PS3.

Well of course. Expect a bump the month of the slim's release. Then expect sales to go back to normal holiday PS3 sales, then expect sales in january to drop back down the the same PS3 sales we're having now.

The slim's cool and all...but no price drop has ever pulled an un-popular console into long term high sales...they always drop back down to normal levels.

The best way you can see it is 1 month down and 47 more to go for the PS3 to catch up, presuming the 360 doesn't sell.

Of course they will, but the key is if Sony will be able to sustain those numbers

I stopped coming here because it got boring. The PS3 price drop has brought some life back into this forum.

More sales is pretty much a giving, not sure why this even needs to be stated. I work at Wal-Mart and we started price matching our current inventory right when the announcement was made. We have completely sold out of PS3s since the price drop while still fully stocked on 360s.

For $300 bucks the PS3 is a real steal.

Sony can screw around all day. The people arent buying into it right now and they need moch more than a price cut at this point. I fully support Sony but i hope they learned their lesson......or fix this mess in the next couple of years.

ANYONE with a brain will buy a PS3 if they got the money! Its without a doubt the best deal for entertainment period. Smart people dont get suckered into major corporations like Micro$oft who has already screwed millions of users.

Now if only we can get those folks @ Activision to drop their prices as well... Koom Baya my friends!:)

If the price drop last it'll increase sales mainly for Christmas. Other than that, nobody really knows if the price drop is permanent or not... at least I don't.
