That is a bad ad, saying staying inside is better then going outside for kids. Just what we need, more obese kids. Oh well, kids will be kids and always enjoy going outside.

spinecaton
What on earth are you talking about? Our current bout of obesity is caused by our (by which I mean, most of the industrial worlds) "new" (last 25 years) increasingly high-fat, high-calorie diet. Our portions have gotten larger, we drink more sweetened beverages, and we consume more high-calorie meals than people did 50 years ago. They've done studies, and they found that we actually eat so much more now, as a nation, that even though some of the populations they've studied are actually *more physically active* than they were 50 years ago, they are gaining weight. - Simply put - having your kids run around outside isn't the end-all-be-all of their waistline. If your kids each a balanced diet, and are reasonably active, there is absolutely no reason that playing some Playstation is going to make them fat. In fact, it's that type of thinking that is dangerous - because parents think "they're kids, they'll run around and burn it off", when, in reality, the diet they are giving their kids is too high in calories to *ever* get burned off.

We don't even have to go so far into that. The fact of the matter is the ad was saying nothing about real life being inferior to Playstation in terms of fun.

I wonder if anyone would sue Sony over that claim that the PS3 can do "everything."

It's really sad to see Sony back into arrogance mode the second they get some good sales figures. I can list a freaking googleplex of things that the PS3 cannot do that computers can do.

It's true. You might think to yourself that going out for a 20 minute jog after having a slice of mudcake will burn it off, when in reality you probably haven't even burnt off the first mouthful.

False advertising; isn't it obvious?

[QUOTE="TheArmyGuy48"] Personally, I think they need to show off Killzone 2. Show some more of the "meat" of PS3, for the core audience, instead of all this casual crap. toast_burner
LBP is one of the best games this gen its far from being 'casual crap'

I lv little big planet. I spent months making a lv (its fun). But i was afriad nobody would like it so i didnt but it out on psn :(. Then i made a heart for heart lv :( then i told the ppl who hearted me i wasent goling to heart them and they hearted me for no reason  now im taking the lv down.

You mean clever advertising. Sony is doing it right it just looks like arrogance because they never had marketed this product right before. Everybody knows that the PS3 can't do everything. Right it can't can it. LOL.

Read my sig for an epic self-ownage. And it's even more sad that people like you even fall for that load of crap. Home media, you say? What about it? It can browse videos and pictures? I believe that the Xbox 360 and PC have been doing that for quite awhile. Look at what the PS3 CAN'T do:

  • video editing
  • photoshop
  • video encoding
  • 2D/3D modeling
  • 3D animations
  • programming

Everytime I see one of these commercials and here it only does everything, I wanna release a commercial right afterwords with me trying to put a Wii game or a 360 game in and it not run it. Then be like I thought it did everything. Then cut out to a little kid crying. But then again Sony always gotten bad commecials.

Its the best ps ad to come around it a long time. It advertises that the ps3 can do most home media functions without showing a crying baby or some dude touching himself.

They confirmed that they will have 9 of them.

  • rumor monger - 299
  • girlfriend - psn network
  • dad - family games (LBP)

-

  • Uncharted2
  • Ratchet and Clank Future ACiT
  • Gran Turismo 5

That's six , so 3 more. I'd guess one will be dedicated to blu-ray movies. Who knows with the other 2 , definitely curious.

It's pretty obvious the PS3 can't do everything. Anyone with common sense knows that, and I doubt viewers will be fooled into thinking otherwise  It's not false advertising, they aren't trying to fool anybody, it's just a clever hyperbole.

These is def. clever marketing Sony's doing. And it's sparking discussion amongst those who already have PS3s. It's really funny to see some taking the hyperbolic tag line too literally. MS asks you to "Jump In"... If I try to do that, I'll break my 360 :|.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to see all nine of the TV spots throughout the holiday.
