What on earth are you talking about? Our current bout of obesity is caused by our (by which I mean, most of the industrial worlds) "new" (last 25 years) increasingly high-fat, high-calorie diet. Our portions have gotten larger, we drink more sweetened beverages, and we consume more high-calorie meals than people did 50 years ago. They've done studies, and they found that we actually eat so much more now, as a nation, that even though some of the populations they've studied are actually *more physically active* than they were 50 years ago, they are gaining weight. - Simply put - having your kids run around outside isn't the end-all-be-all of their waistline. If your kids each a balanced diet, and are reasonably active, there is absolutely no reason that playing some Playstation is going to make them fat. In fact, it's that type of thinking that is dangerous - because parents think "they're kids, they'll run around and burn it off", when, in reality, the diet they are giving their kids is too high in calories to *ever* get burned off. That is a bad ad, saying staying inside is better then going outside for kids. Just what we need, more obese kids. Oh well, kids will be kids and always enjoy going outside.
