:O This isn't good man forums are the best place to get help and information.

Jim Ryan im calling you out. You said you don't like old games you don't like forums WHAT THE HELL DO YOU LIKE? You're a horrible president. Keep the forums up add backwards compatibility. I Honestly like david jaffe the old sony leadership better than this new one.

Can't say I'm surprise by this. PlayStation forums have been dead for years. Even back when I joined Gamespot in Oct. 2014, there was very few people posting in it. Hell, I'm always on Twitter and I get much everything over their from Sony/MS/Steam news anyways. Odd that Sony didn't mention about Reddit since that's still a thing.

Uh, dude, have you been to those places? They're dead, lol. Twitter and reddit are where it's at for info.

Mate, internet message boards are a relic of the 2000s. Social media has replaced that now. Technology marches on, as it has always done.

Not that I would touch social media with a thousand foot pole myself, but reality is reality.

Twitter is cancer, however I do not know the state of Playstation forums. I wasn't aware there were any.

Honestly I forgot they even had forums... it's easier just to search for official forums on a game by game basis.

Social media marches on towards censorship. I guess we should accept a horrible future? Weird how people defend it even if they dont like it lol. GS forums dead too but at least dont give brain damage like Twitter.

Again, that's just reality. Social media sites are, at the end of the day, privately-owned platforms, built primarily with commercial motivations in mind. Their first and primary interest is making money, and there are many commercial incentives to at least try to moderate their platforms.

Besides, such efforts tend to fail, because humans by their base nature like to get away with shit, and are ever innovative in their ways of circumventing attempts to control them. Even if they do somehow manage to enforce rules on their platforms, the internet is a vast and chaotic place, and there will always be corners of the internet where such rules hold no sway.

It's not about defending or fighting it, it's just the way it is. At some point, you reach the limit of what you can realistically do, and have to adapt to the rest at least to some degree.

Man they have bigger things to worry about. They don't have resources to put gameplay in their 'games', how do you expect them to dedicate resources to something like forums. :D

They'll be out of the market in 5 years. Might as well start closing shop.

@ProtossRushX: David Jaffe was a lead developer on one game. He was never a part of Sony leadership and that dude is a whiny moron that hasn't made a good game since he rode the coattails of his team that developed God of War.

Ohhh you didn't know? Did you know that Nintendo & MS have their own forums as well? Oh yes they do ;)

All jest aside, they were barely used by fans and it'll share the same faith as PS Home.

@davillain-: I mean it seems obvious that they do (did) - but I'd honestly never checked, no. I'm not into the brands themselves enough to be interested in that - more interested in a general gaming forum like GS offers

@r-gamer: "David Jaffe was a lead developer on one game."

What about Twisted Metal?

"He was never a part of Sony leadership and that dude is a whiny moron that hasn't made a good game since he rode the coattails of his team that developed God of War."

Private or not they too big. Big tech is a monopoly, something needs to be done and i heard something could be done. This is where Trump really fails. :(
