I won't hold it against them. I skip E3 every year.
If their aim is to reveal at TGS then I can only feel the Series X reveal did what the Scarlett and XB1S announcement did to Sony announcing of the Pro and Slim PS4s, to save face they delayed their underwhelming announcement until closer to release.
Good, E3 is essentially a giant advertisement now, it lies and panders to consumers and gets them whipped into a frenzy over things they don't want or need in the first place.
Has E3 ever not been a glorified commercial reel?
Geez, you cows prove your delusions as usual.
I can guarantee 100% if Sony instead announced they're coming back to E3 in a big way this year, all you cows would be making unlimited threads by now over how much Sony is going to own E3 and how hyped you all are.
Nintendo doesn't do an E3 presser - *gets laughed at*
Sony bails E3 altogether - Well, that's different because...

Sony bails E3 altogether - Well, that's different because...
Nintendo never left E3 to begin with, they only reformatted their presence to deviate away from the stage conference.
Still; despite so, Nintendo got a lot of shit for this, regardless.
Sony withdrawing from E3 completely gets a standing ovation from the delusional cow.

That's my point. The hypocrisy of the internet holds no bounds. Hell, I remember when Nintendo first announced it, people like Adam Sessler slammed Nintendo for the decision, while former Gamespot review Tom McShea defended it. The latter ended up being right...

Wait, you calling mrbojangles25 a Cow when he's an known Hermit? LOL.
To be fair, he as a point about E3 itself. It's always been one big advertisement for insider journalist until the rise of social media pretty much takes all the surprises away due to leaks ahead of E3. E3 is outdated, social media has made these annual advertisement obsolete. Even Comic-Con is getting little closer to be on par with E3's life support.

Well to be fair, I am not on this website 24/7 like most of you, and I am not friends with any of you to care about your status as a gamer.

Mooo?

I am not friends with anyone here either but its not unreasonable to verify your accusation before making it. :)
@mrbojangles25: Don't pay no mind to jaydan. Never likes anyone here.
Lol that aint true. I come from a time when there was an actual community at Gamespot. I won several OTcars, had my 10K party and modded unions here as well.
These old offerings along with the old (worthwhile) community is virtually dead now, so why care beyond the lulz?

It's just that - you're right - I just don't care enough as your long-face response seems to care.
Like many others I think this is a bad decision. Even though the last few Sony E3 presentations were silly, that doesn't mean they can't/aren't entertaining. Every year I look forward to the spectacle of the E3 keynotes, and to watch that slowly die off sucks. But it baffles me even more to watch you guys yearn for it's death. Does watching a real life event really bother you that much?
I for one think "State of Play" sucks. It's like waking up for Christmas as a kid, and instead of gathering around the tree with your family to open presents, you instead wake up to couple gift cards on your dresser and all the decorations have been put in storage. And they're gracious enough to rob you of this joy a few times a year.
I just don't understand why you cheer for getting less. What do you gain by not having Sony at E3?
If they can't do any better than that flute playin' shite then I'm glad they aren't coming back.
Now, if their "directs" didn't suck so badly I wouldn't be concerned.

So you're saying gamers don't want or need games or hardware lol.
@i_p_daily:
See unlike MS, Sony have given reason for it's fans to wait hand & hand on PlayStation products. Sony is always known to have a "slow start" but a powerful finish, most of the times.
You guys are cultists is all, your post is just further proof of that.
I guess you cows can say that Sony won E3 like your kind did last year lol.
Enjoy the show as we all know you cows will be watching and re-watching it to find the tiniest things you can bitch about MS over :)

You have a real knack for putting words into people's mouths.
I'm saying we don't want or need bullshit. Sort of like how we were all sold that bullshit over how 4K is awesome, and they all made that jump to 4K before they could even do 1080 right.
Now it's happening with Ray Tracing. Or how people think an NVMe drive will actually improve gameplay (it only improves load times FYI).
Would be nice if E3 was actually a place to show off the artistry and craft of video game development instead of a place for marketing to dutch rudder eachother.

So games and hardware are now bullshit, geez dude if gaming has you this jaded maybe you should find a new hobby :(
Most of us watch the shows/conferences and discuss the games that were shown, most of us don't care for anything else.
PS I just looked up Dutch Rudder and the results were hilarious LMFAO.
That's very disappointing. Cost saving measure?
E3 is very expansive indeed, but that's hardly the problem from Sony, Sony is doing what Nintendo is already doing now, set up their own event booth and E3 itself is no longer needed when social media/24 hour online news does the job for the user.
I think everyone seem to forget last year E3 had a ton of Journalist private data leaks to the world and all their private info wasn't secure by E3 themselves, so that's a major concern on why everyone isn't gonna bother E3 not much longer.
@i_p_daily:
""Well you got one part right. That's you cows won't abandon them, I mean Sony could not show anything and just release it and you would be standing outside your nearest game store at midnight lined up in the pouring rain just to get one.""
Wait isn't that what MS is doing? They will have nothing but multiplatforms.
Oh I remember now you are just ok by been shown an empty cg.
I personally liked Sony's E3 2018. They let me know beforehand that the main focus was on the BIG 4. The pageantry (banjo/flute) stuff is irrelevant.
I was entertained and hopeful about the PS4's future lineup.I was interested in playing the BIG 4 and more. But what really matters are the results.
Results so far -
I'm guessing the 2020 games should be fun and the results should be interesting
This year , as long as Sony shows and announces future stuff I like or am interested in trying , it doesn't matter where or when they show it.
I'll find it or know about it via State of Plays , a PS5 reveal event , the PlayStation blog , PlayStation's youtube ,TGS , Gamescom , Paris Games Week , The Game Awards , resetera/N4G/System Wars/podcasts , etc.
I don't quite understand this one.... now both consoles have me worried...
awesome...
It's starting to feel as though NEITHER of them were ready for next gen but didn't want the other to get a jump on them.
Hopefully SONY has some big plans for some other event or something.. This is odd to say the least.
Someone or something at E3 must have really pissed them off...

You act like multiplatform games are a bad thing and that exclusives are the BESTEST GAMES EVA lol.
Forza Horizon 4 is on PC and that has never stopped me from enjoying it. So you must only play exclusives when you go around to the house of that one friend you have to play his PS4.
Oh and you're ok with Sony not even having the respect for its gamers to show its games/console at the worlds largest video game event, that is the state of play.
Like I said earlier you guys are cultists and will stand in the pouring rain until midnight to buy something site unseen.
Can't say I'm surprised got to credit Sony for saying screw it we will do our own showcasing. Bold move.
