Microsoft needs something more than the 360. They won't win with it only. They need to take a bite out of the handhelds and get into that. Otherwise they lost this gen.

They might be gaming console, but the Wii is not competing with the PS3 or the 360, Nintendo said that at the begin, thats why its not High-Def games, no hard drive, no DVD or CD play back. You need to go back to the lab and think a lil.

It's great (but not surprising) that Sony is making so much money when you COMBINE PS2 and PS3 sales (hardware&software).........but lets get serious here. You take out the last gen console and look to the future, they are neck and neck with X360 right now. I would put Wii as ahead but lets get serious......if PS3 is having software problems the Wii is worse. You can quote all the AAA mario toilet titles you want.....you take a console by the overall games, not just a couple titles. You can't survive when 3rd party developers don't consider you a hardcore gaming machine (and they don't)

Also please keep in mind that IF PS3 had the user base of X360 (and actually release some fricking titles) software sales would be on par or even greater than X360. The problem when comparing software sales is X360 has more than twice the install base in the US and almost twice the userbase worldwide. It should sale more software. The fact that in the US DMC4 almost beat X360's tells me once the userbase grows.....software sales are going to surpass X360's. And Wii will be outselling them with so called software like WiiFit and Aerobic Exercises with Donkey Kong.

Wii is selling because of the combination of low price + appeal to non-gamers. PS3 is a real gaming system, with extra features for people who care about electronics, therefore, gamers will buy it, not mommy and her granddaughter.
