[QUOTE="Eponique"]So tell me cows, if the Wii is winning because it's cheaper, how is the PS3 beating the 360? Seeing how cows are always about "PS3 has no games and is more expensive, and sells more than the 360!!! Ps3 is the best!!" these days.shadyd1717
Wii is selling because of the combination of low price + appeal to non-gamers. PS3 is a real gaming system, with extra features for people who care about electronics, therefore, gamers will buy it, not mommy and her granddaughter.
wouldnt the "real gaming system" be the one that doesnt double as a movie player?

If the cost of the system was both of those prices combined (600$) then yes it wouldnt be a real gaming system, it would look like it focuses more on other aspects, but the PS3 is 400$ now.

i mean the fact that the ps3 is also marketed as a blu-ray player. whereas the 360 is marketed as a gaming console, it only plays games. i would think that the 360 would be a definition of a "real gaming system" unlike the ps3 which they consider it themselves to be an all-in-one Media Center

Thats why I said its a real gaming system with extra features for people who care about electronics. The Wii is marketed to non-gamers, which are way more heavily populated then gamers or electronic people, therefore it'll sell more.
interesting how they say they are kicking ass, but only mention that they are beating the 360. lol.
i guess even to Sony the Wii is so far ahead that they are concentrated on being #2

I think we all know who's battling who here. Nintendo isn't in the same game the other two are. Acting as if they are is baseless and trivial.
And I don't feel the MS/Sony battle is for #2, not entirely. Nintendo will and can have the #1 slot for grabbing the largest audience. Thus far, though, having that install base hasn't gievn them much of an advantage. I don't see any more third-party support than last gen.
MS/Sony are battling for #1 in HD, high tech gaming. They are battling for the "big boy's" #1.

The difference between the Wii average sales price and the rest is far larger than 360/PS3.
Don't tell me all of the Wii's sales in 2007 were due to software.

no, its because the ps3 and the 360 are the big 2. the wii isnt even in the same boat as the other 2.
im guessing by "same boat" you mean the race for #2
no, same boat...meaning league. meaning....no comp
uh... sure. whatever helps you sleep at night. meanwhile, back to reality...
ok....what is the reality?
that they are all competing against each other
wrong. from the start, nintendo said that they are not competing with the 360 or the ps3. why do you think that the wii isnt a dvd player? i dont even think that it can play cd's. i dont know, i havent tried playing cd's on mine yet.
No. they said they were focusing on a different segment of the videogaming market. (casual and family, where ps3/360 focus on hardcore)
thats what they said. they are all in the videogaming market.
funny how the Wii was included in the next-gen sales forecast BEFORE it came out. but now that its Demolishing the competition, its not included anymore. the haters just cant accept it... sour grapes i suppose
like i said before. the ps3 and the 360 are not in the same boat as the wii. and from what i see in your post, you are saying the same thing.
casual and family vs hardcore

baseless? you mean the fact that they are all in the videogaming business, in the same "generation"? yeah, baseless
regarding second bolded statement: lol. whatever. spin it anyway you want to, but its not gonna change reality
but hey, whatever helps you sleep at night

OMG you sheep talk in circles. yesterday I had a bunch of you telling me there's no way wii can match 360/PS3 in power. Yest you try to say a Wii score equals a PS3/360 score of the same rating. And then a bunch of sheep told me no one was saying that but then told me comparing AAA's wasn't the same thing.
Now you're going to tell me they are in the same fight.
Wow.

Wow... just wow. IT WAS YOU who was trying to say that a Wii score equals a 360/ps3 score... remember?
looking at your sig, i dont think you even remember what you did this morning.
IF the wii sold comparably with the ps3/360 then you would have included it, but since its kicking so much butt, you guys just cant take it. put whatever spin you want. but the numbers dont lie

I agree, even though they aren't directly targeting the same markets, the Wii is definatly in the same boat as the 360/PS3. i.e my girlfriend was gonna buy a PS3 and then after playing and seeing both went with the Wii. Therefor Nintendo has just nabbed a sale of Sony, how is that not DIRECT competition.
