[QUOTE="SecretPolice"][QUOTE="VoodooHak"]I agree - It would be wise for a company next gen., maybe even Sega :) or someone else to compete in that different VG market and make a bunch of quick cash. Heck, they can make a $90.00 console and sell it @ $250.00 and laugh all the way to the bank too. :P here is the problem The Wii audience still has people that were part of last gens audience The 360 and PS3 people are basically CORE gamers at this point.....where as the Wii is picking up all the casuals that the PS2 was getting...while adding the non gamers to boot. The Wii is competition...because both Microsoft and Sony need not only the core gamers but the casual audience as well. This whole split market stuff works fine in theory...but at the end of the day.....All 3 companies have and will always want the larger install base...and that right now is The WIi.We really don't disagree. The point I've made numerous times here is that MS & Sony are splitting sales and Nintendo has the market to itself so to speak. If there were a Sega this gen with a Waggle controller because lets face it, that is why non gamers or the casuals are enamored with the Wii ( simplicity dontchknow :P ) then "n" & Sega would be splitting those sales so That is why a 4th console would be wise next gen as they could pick up those kind of gamers and earn some healthy cash that "n" has become a big fan of this gen. :PI agree with Hirai that they're not competing with the Wii.
The people likely to by a Wii are definitely not the same type of people likely to by a 360 or PS3. So no, they're not really competing at the cash register.
