What excuse? I truly don't believe the PS4 will be out alongside the Xbox 720 for at least a year or two. We have heard/ seen almost nothing about their console while the Xbox 720 is all over the place. I'm thinking their release will be behind the Xbox 720 and that's not a farfetched idea.

Kind of expected since they did not release a new system this year. Typically when new systems are announced theys are released the following Fall season(with the exception of handhelds). Microsoft inadvertently helped Sony by focusing on Kinect and is stuck working with that for at least another year. Sony got screwed over by the hack though so the longer it delays the PS4 the better it can hope to recover.

Of course they're not saying PS4 is coming, that would really hurt PS3 sales. They haven't confirm with the specs yet so they don't need to talk about PS4 as of now.

This console generation needs to end quickly if you ask me. Consoles have reached there peak graphically and the online services for ps3 and xbox are terrible and need updating.

Well makes sense. The ps2 lasted into the current gen and smacked up the 360. Ps3 is primed to smack up the next gen, including the 720, when it comes. However, at this point, it looks like the next Xbox won't even be a gaming console, but a family entertainment center.ispeakfact

If they would follow their "a new console every six years" plan, PS4 would have already launched this year. Instead, they haven't even announced a new console at E3. There is a chance that they reveal some news on PS4 next year but it's not guaranteed it will launch next year. They have made it pretty clear that they're focusing on PS3 and Vita and will likely launch their next console the last.

Actully MS blew it by forcing Kinect. It is stuck trying to actually make people think that rubbish works and has given Sony the time it needed.

Good, I can't afford a new system now anyway, and as far as I'm concerned the graphics are more than adequate for what's needed. No big rush here.
