http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/12974/Sony-Xbox-Live-is-Static-2D-and-Cant-Match-HOME/

Speaking to Three Speech, a sort of official unofficial PlayStation blog, a Sony spokesperson has provided some answers for those of use that claim the new Home service is simply a rip-off of Ninteno Miis, Second Life and Xbox 360 achievements. When asked if Home isn’t a rip-off of Xbox Live, the Sony representative said:

Home is a first of its kind 3D community that allows for open interaction between consumers, SCE and third party partners. It is a truly interactive, global community of users. Xbox Live is a static, 2D, text-heavy environment that can’t match the rich community features found in Home. Xbox Live community interaction is much more passive and limited to the members on that friend’s list.

Someone should tell this Sony representative you can send voice messages and have voice chat conversations; plus, when you get the Xbox Live Vision camera, you can also do video messages and chat.

After Sony's weak and cheap response, we still believe Home is just a copy of the best the Xbox 360 and Wii have to offer. To read more responses from Sony regarding Home,

Im sorry sony but there this other program called THERE which sonys home complete ripped off and is 100% the same thing just doesn't look as good.  http://www.there.com/ and has been out for like 7 yrs.

Wow. Technically Sony is right. Home is a 3d MMO based Service, while Live is more Text Based. Anyway, all you arguments don't matter as Sony already had those things on the Ps2.

And I'm Sorry. Xbox Live is a copy of Gamespy and Xfire, if you want to play the "Who Copied Who" Game

Xbox Vision is also a copy of Eye toy...

So, it really doesn't matter.

Oh noes! The 360 dashboard is 2D? You know what? That *completely* ruins my online gaming experience, as well as my marketplace experience, and I mean, ffs my friend's list would be MUCH more efficient if it was 3D. Achievements are nice and simple, you have a gamerscore, you can check games, and you can check descriptions for achievements. I'd rather have 3 taps of the A button than have a virtual character looking at lame virtual trophies in a virtual apartment in which the money I'm spending to furnish the virtual apartment is not in the least way virtual.

You relaize you don't hae to use Home if you don't want to. You can just use XMB to do whhat you want to do. Phil said that Home isn't a replacement, its a alternative wolrd where you can do interact with each other.

Also by what Lemmings say, copying and improving autmatically makes a company bad...

Oh, my understanding was that it *was* going to be the main branch of the PSN. My mistake!

Taken from the Cambridge Online Dictionary.

 Gimmick :

 noun [C]

something which is not serious or of real value that is used to attract people's attention or interest temporarily, especially to make them buy something: a publicity gimmick

Yhea, I really expected a honest awnser saying the truth lowering themself...

People will soon realise home is kinda... overrated, also I expect some milking by Sony for it... also x360 can do it if it really becomes as big as a succes as Sony hypes.

I cant wait to see all the Ps publications on the shelves next month. "xbox live is dead" blah blah blah.... 6 million live users cant be wrong can they? Typical Sony. Show a conceptual video. Get all the fanboys hyped. Then in real world conditions, underdeliver.

people need to stop comparing home directly to xbox live, simply because with home you interact with others playing home, with xbox live you can interact with any one on xbox live no matter what they are playing. home is basically a glorified lobby system.

PSHOme is a good idea, but the 360 is capable of doing it too. All they need to do is make a downloadable MMO....and they have their own version.

Actually Live was out before Xfire and Gamespy never worked and you couldn't continue to play with people you might have met in the game. Also Home can't do this either. Home is just like Second life but there is no in game connection in Home like there is in live.

Actually, the original Version of Gamespy came out in 1996. Live came out in 2002. So unless the order of years go backward, Gamespy has 4 years on Live.

And if you Even WATCHED the video, you would know you can go up to someone and start up any game you want to play, provided you both have the game.

Well considering how many games come with a free month of two of gold, it really doesn't bother me that much. Plus, I know the money is going towards keeping the system up and running, wouldn't want it to go down within it's first month... oh sorry PSN! $50 for a superior online experience is decent, how are you enjoying that Blu-ray player that you were forced to buy. You watch a lot of 1080p movies? Do you rent, or do you purchase your Blu-ray movies? Oh, I don't know anyone who buys them, 2 of them cost more than a year of Live Gold. What a rip-off eh cows? I guess that's what happens when one company makes games, movies, electronics, music, etc. They take your money from all directions.

I said Live was out before Xfire. And that Gamespy never worked worth anything. i was talking about the fact i can met people in a game put them on my friends list and continue to play with them in any other games on live. In Home you might be able to start a game but you can't find people while you are in your games like you can with Live. Home is just a 3d chat room like second life and other failed PC apps we've seen before . The only connection to games Hame has his there half baked rip off of Live achievements. Home is as gimmicky as the six axis.

Yes you pay $50 for live but live still has ads. Like Ads in gamer pics, ads in promotions, ad in contests etc. Do you play on servers?NO. You pay for peer to peer connections, it should be free. I love movies and I love a blu ray player. Casino Royale in HD is freaking awesome. What rip-off? Sony is loosing money with every PS3 sold.

And by the way how does it feel to have a software company make a console? For me it really sucks because after 3 months of purchase my 360 died. Well you lemmings love it when your 360 dies, thats why you love M$.
