So when MS do it, they're bastards, a disease that wants to consume your family and kill the entire games industry. But when Sony do it, it's (a.) a good thing and (b.) they're just cutting dead wood.

Case in point, take a Rare thread. Rare have been inconsistent and have struggled to make decent games and MS didn't even disband them, they kept them around to do something else. But cows get real worked up in those threads. Sony closes a studio and everyones all understanding.

As per his links, "Pioneer" had nothing to do with developing Xbox games and MGS Vancouver is still going, they just cancelled two projects...

Any company will lose deadwood if it has to, because that'sthe ruthlessness of business but I hate how some companies get a free pass in certain people's eyes while others do the exact same and are pronounced to be evil etc.

MS has closed more studios over the years then Sony has as this thread has already shown the fact is Sony's key studios still make great games , and in all honesty of the ones they have closed down I have not bought one of there games with the exception of wipeout .
