Sony's marketing is clearly out of touch and over the hill.

here is my rant. an actor actually showing off the game he wants you to buy, or a FAKE trailer that DOES NOT REPRESENT what you would get if you were to buy the game? these halo trailers are cool and all, but its pathetic how they always show live action trailers that make the game look far better than it actually is.

"when it doesn't bother you that the makers of your favorite videogame don't even show you a moment of your favorite videogame in the trailer for your favorite videogame"

seriously. we know the game is going to be good, so why try to trick people who don't know any better with these live action trailers? it was amusing having 1 for halo 3, then they did it for ODST, now multiple times for reach.

they should go back to this way of making them, and save all their live action resources for making the movie that everybody wants them to make.

oh yeah, they did make a proper reach trailer. still kind of annoying of how many live action trailers there are compared to real ones. i'd even take the fake gears trailers of live action because at least those show you what the game looks like.

TC apparently has a short memory, KB hasnt been the focus of all Sony's commercials. How about that Killzone 2 commercial back in '09. That was awesome. The fact is Sony's KB commercials have been a true breath of fresh air from the joke commercials they launched with. Besides, what M$ commercials are you talking about. Wait...Halo right? LOL ok so they show some cut scenes from Halo. How about the rest of their games...no their busy trying to make it look like COD is a M$ game. When they arent doing that, they are prepping us for grooming tigers and crap with Kinect. Seriously, if what M$ is doing is cutting edge, call me old fashioned, over the hill, whatever...I'll wear that badge with pride and honor.

You guys sound butt-hurt.

Zune_HD

Nothing butt hurt. Just Sony's marketing team is extinct. No wonder why their exclusives don't sell well.

Sony exclusives sell extremely well.

TC, you actually picked a pretty hilarious KB commercial.

If you want an example of a poor one, look no further.Seriously, they're BRAGGING that you can't tell it's a game. :|

Head_of_games
What's wrong with that? They're saying it looks so good and action packed that it looks like watching a movie. Sounds damn good to me.

I agree. KB was funny near the beginning but now, every ad (especially for the Move) seems to be bashing the competition rather than showing their stuff. ie, look at the new site, I mean obviously only the PLAYstation Move can access the PLAYSTATION NETWORK

The PSP commercials are pretty lame but I like the PS3 ones minus the move commercials. The move commercials are lame because they just bash the competition while wagging retarded lookinglollipops around.I do think Sony should do some quick 30 second gameplay commercials with epic musicmore often because they can only go on the kevin butler thing for so long.

It's become evident that Sony are out of touch with marketing their playstation line-up. Their tactics are clearly over the hill and would've worked ten years ago. I mean seriously, what's with the Marcus PSP kid? Have a make-believe, sterotype kid market their products is a good idea? Also, why are Sony always attacking the competition in their ads? Insecure? No wonder why Apple has been destroying the PSP lately when they are showing this to potential consumers. Microsoft clearly knows how to attract new audiences while keeping their fans satisfied. Show a quick ad with action with a great music theme to have people wanting more. Kevin Butler was funny at first, but it's becoming an old trick now. It's clearly become evident that the people are recognizing KB more than what he's advertising. Anyone else feel the same? I mean, if I was a casual gamer looking to buy a new game which advertisement is going to help sway my decision? Live action trailer with quick glimpses of action with great music, or a middle age actor who is clearly reading from a scrip?

i've always thought MS had better marketing, they do a good job and the live action commercials are pretty awesome. you bought a zune so im sure MS marketing worked on you.
