Yeah, again I think sony is going for a more hardcore audience. Natal and the wii in general really exude casual-ness. The sony motion thing doesn't seem as geared toward casuals munu9
Oh yeah that big sword had Hardcore written all over it.
you know, i'd like to see some games that will support it before jumping to any conclusions. it looked like they threw that demo together after seeing MS's motion camera, you know, in a span of 24 hours.
Their demo seemed too staged and planned for it to be just a 24 thing imo. At worst I think they already had it in mind but decided not to show it at E3 but changed their minds when they saw that MS was doing it, too.you know, i'd like to see some games that will support it before jumping to any conclusions. it looked like they threw that demo together after seeing MS's motion camera, you know, in a span of 24 hours.

I agree... how can you guys buy into Natal? Seriously... if you stop thinking with your eyes and look at it objectively... Natal doesn't look very appealing from a gaming standpoint. I can see it doing Wii-like "fun" games... but other than that... its "not" even relatively practical. It definitely looked staged to be seemingly intuitive.
While I just don't like motion control in general, Sony's contraption at least was demonstrated with gameplay.
I liked it... but it doesn't seem much better then Wiimotion plus... and you don't have to have a wonky light on the top for wii motion plus to work.

Well, he even said it was an early prototype and the look will probably change. I thought it looked way more precise than the motion plus. And, the graphical capabilities of the PS3 are way above what the Wii can do. I think they can actually do some cool stuff with it in-game.
I find it funny that since PS3 and 360 barely had any new games announced (we knew most of the games before E3), that now Lems and Cows are talking about motion controls while Wii owners are talking about games.... oh yah Zelda just got confirmed... you hear that? Zelda.

if Sony ditches the aesthetics, focuses on functionality and add all the needed buttons and analog, they could have the best controller ever. Yes, i want that thing to replace the DS3.
I can say I'm a sony fanboy, but I must admit in my position that the motion controller is just plain stupid. If sony is going to further develop this thing, nobody is going to stop them, but at least I'll stay away from it thank you very much.

WMP is very percise they just don't show it in techdemos... they show it in games... where your usually focusing on what's happening and not on how precise it is.My crystal ball says that Sony is going to screw up the marketing for this game and sell the peripheral seperate from the actual games or not market it at all (Eye of Judgement?). Socom/Warhawk/ Bluetooth HS was a good step in the correct direction, but they offered no fun factor follow through.
Nintendo got peripherals write, Wii board with Wii Fit; Wiimote with Wii Sports; Wii adapter with Wii Resort. Sony and MS better learn.
And yet Sony's presentation ended up being 10x more effective. :Dyou know, i'd like to see some games that will support it before jumping to any conclusions. it looked like they threw that demo together after seeing MS's motion camera, you know, in a span of 24 hours.

Didn't you say you were going to quit console gaming and move on to PC if Sony got motion contols?

 sony motion tech was an epic fail is just like the wii with better presicion:lol:
LOL omg this fanboys are crazy
:? the 360 one is 300 % better than that POS
Ps3 already has an EyEtoy, so did the ps2.What impressed me was how they used it. I don't know why the Wii doesn't have an RTS like what they showed.
Wasdie
they do. its called Tact of Magic, published by Nintendo already in JP, in NA this fall
and Dawn of Discovery has gotten plenty of AA reviews, its an RTS releasing on Wii this month
and Pikmin, well Pikmin is Pikmin

And the eyetoy did not track depth by measuring the time it takes reflected light to return to the camera, did not have built in voice recognition software for the developers to use, and did not have true face recognition.
You could say that Natal is a 3d eyetoy with amazing software built in, but that wouldn't exactly be "the same", would it?
I think the Bingo Dabber was a little farther along than You're in the Movies 2, but Natal has a higher ceilingPOJO_MOFO
 come to think of it, thats EXACTLY what it looked like.
Ugh this Sony controller isn't going to be out for a long time, they don't even have a name for the damn thing yet. By the time it does come out WMP will have far greater market penetration and way more games. Both the wand and Natal are going to be sunk before they even launch.Popadophalis
Natal dev kits go out next week. Developers can have "tacked on" motion in their holiday releases. High-end motion games by the time Sony's Wand comes out.
i'll start by saying i'm not interested much in motion controlled based games.. however both offerings from Sony & MS were interesting.. however i did get a feeling that while MS planned well the presentation for Natal, Sony looked like it was a last minute decision...Sony could have prepared a better show as regards motion controls..

Even so how many developers are going to jump on the bandwagon when the peripheral is completely unproven. The first party *has* to lead the way yet microsoft doesn't have any games for it at all. Both Sony and Microsoft have pontential with the technology they are using but to me the demos shown for both were meh.

I predict a fall release of Natal, with a "Natal Sports" game and an XBL update for Natal menu controls. And like I said, tacked on controls for a few big games. Especialy Halo ODST. Then more to come in the winter.
On a side note, I think these $200 rumors are false. I bet it is only about $10 or $20 dollars more than the original webcam.
Releasing so late into the console's lifespan is a little dangerous (same goes for Natal)
But there is a possibility that it will be compatible with the future next-gen consoles. I mean,I don't see MS and Sony forcing you to abandon your Gamertag, Trophies and Achievement points, as well as your digital purchases. Unlike past consoles where it was a brand new start every time, this next migration will let you bring over a lot of stuff. And I have a feeling Natal and Sony's motion thing will be among those.
natal is the most advanced thing announced imo sony's motion is like a toy compared to natalFILIPINOMAZTERPosts like this make me fear for the future of this forum... now that the 360's lineup is junk I think Lems will mistakingly put all of their focus on this 'thing'.
What have you become lems? What have you become?
