Hacking on PC is absolutely not a problem. Only a non-PC gamer would suggest such a thing.

Takes like 5min to change an ip address and come right back in..usser name,password...ect..nothing even a noob cant handle.

VanDammFan

And that is somehow a minus for PC, considering that reissuing a ban takes less than half a minute, while on consoles you can only stick with what you got or leave the game?

Hacking on a monitored dedicated server doesn't happen often.

This is part of the reason why PC gamers want dedicated servers. We can completely control who plays on the server. If somebody is hacking or being extremely rude, we can just ban them and they can't come back. Problem solved.

On the consoles you have no choice but to put up with everything and hope that the moderators do something to their profiles.

It's pretty easy to tell when someone reset their dynamic IP...

TC probably played a game or two on PC and got owned so badly that he believed the person or persons delivering the owning upon him must have been hacking.

The hackers get banned by moderators/thread

The_Game21x

Exactly.

Hackers aren't as big of a problem as people think in most games.

well it is easy for a console fanboy to type "PC gaming hacks" on youtube and state "hacking on the PC is still a problem"

Maybe older games like old CS games pre-steam. Now you have to register your CK key with a central server. Ban that CD key, that person ain't coming back.

Then the admin sees them again and bans them in a minute...

Hacking in popular pc games are at a all time low.. It became that way when hacking could lead to having your game copy revoked for at very least multiplayer purposes.. I would dare say that PC gaming is far more secure than console gaming right now when it comes to multiplayer.

Don't play crappy games like MW2 and Blops and you don't have to worry about hackers.

"I hate when PC gamers brag." Why, because we have something to actually brag about?

I love people's futile attempts to bash PC gaming.

Any admin/moderator worth his salt permanently bans hackers of any sort, while on the console they run rampart with little to no intervention.

Anyway, you hate it when PC gamers "brag" yet you ignore console gamers bragging about their system, console elitist.

console multiplayer is a joke. you spend half the time waiting in lobbies, then you have issues with host advantage, lots of lag and host migration. games that do have dedi servers pick for you and put you in half full servers.

And for people who think that using the 'PC elitist' card is insulting:

'Elitism is the belief or attitude that some individuals, who form an elite — a select group of people with intellect, wealth, specialized training or experience, or other distinctive attributes — are those whose views on a matter are to be taken the most seriously or carry the most weight or those who view their own views as so; whose views and/or actions are most likely to be constructive to society as a whole; or whose extraordinary skills, abilities or wisdom render them especially fit to govern.'

You are basically calling us your superiors, and praising us.

Lucianu

Nice try, but if you keep reading that Wiki definition you'll find this:

The term elitism is also sometimes used to denote situations in which a group of people claiming to possess high abilities or simply an in-group or cadre grant themselves extra privileges at the expense of others. This form of elitism may be described as discrimination.

They still have tons of hackers? What's the point of PC gamers bragging about their updated stuff it they still get hackers?

Seriously consoles have "outdated" hardware but have less chances of hacking

Whaaat?? I'm just wondering.. I don't mean to be bashing on PC's as I just hate it when PC gamers brag...

Discuss?

Only game in recent memory where I've seen hackers who weren't banned in less than 2 minutes was COD4. Mostly because the admins on many of the servers were idiots. "This guy's aimbotting, I'm specing him" "Maybe you just suck and he's really good" *guy headshots entire time in the span of 10 seconds twitching around the entire time*

Depends what game, if your cd key is linked to an account or it uses something like Steamworks, then good luck. And chances are if you ban a hacker from your server they wont change their ip and rejoin, they probably will just go immediately to another server.
