Argue from a technical standpoint only (which on SW means whatever system you own). But good for a larf.

Character models are better on RE5 but KZ2 has alot better lighting affects, some better textures, some worse textures, and overall more on the screen so IMO i think KZ2 beats RE5 but not by alot.killa4lyfeBY more on the screen i mean that more things are happening on the screen then RE5. NOT that they put crap on the screen :P jus for hecks sake
*YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN* is what i think of this and all graphics comparision threads... seriously at this point in this gen it's just nitpicking.

I remember when it used to be about you know... the games!!
Long time no see.
ya but hearing ppl argue sooo passionately over tiny details in texture resolution or filtering effects or whatever is a guilty pleasure of mine.
Which game has better graphics, the one that spent nearly half a decade in development for a single platform or the multiplatform game that has about 2 or 3 years of development time at most alongside a slew of other games from the same developer.
Think carefully on this one.
I won both an Xbox 360 and a PS3, and having played Resident Evil 5 on both systems, I believe Killzone 2 has better graphics.king_bobo
Do you see a difference between RE5 on PS3 or 360... I saw all these pics being posted in past threads, and then i looked at the same thing on m PS3, and the forum pictures were a lot worse than what was actually on PS3
Technical standpoint it's probably KZ2. RE5 looks better to me with the artstyle and everything else.
I post this in every thread, so il post is here to

"Digital Foundry, a company that makes video capture hardware, has had their experts look at the graphics in the Killzone 2 multiplayer beta and has declared them an "undisputed winner."
Thats from the multiplayer beta and even then it looked superior to everything.

I don't get your point... are you supporting KZ2 as the winner or are you trying to diminish its victory by a lil??
Not to Crysis, but it is definitely the 2nd best looking game.I post this in every thread, so il post is here to

[QUOTE="blazinpuertoroc"]what about KZ2's ass art direction? Really? I'd say it has very distinctive art direction. Not great mind you, but at least it's not generic. This is even evident in screenshots from the PS2 and PSP titles.KZ2 makes RE5 look like ass.
Zero5000X
definately Killzone 2. i think all RE5 has going for it are the character models, which i think are just a little better than KZ2's. other than that KZ2 wins.
They both have their ups and downs. RE5 has better character models although I still think the Helghast look awesome.
Killzone 2 wins in the texture department and has more stuff going on.
eh i'll put in my 2 cents as an impartial judge who owns neither system or game. KZ2 is unprecedented in motion. And RE5 takes better screenshots most of the time. As for these comment:

honestly, RE5 would take it technically. it motion KZ2 looks better, but as to what the games are actually doing, i would say RE5. KZ2 only looks better in motion because of the blur because thats what it needs to hide the horror of the textures in that game which if you zoom in to them look absolutely terrible. and on top of that its scale is nothing to brag about. i don't know why cows would be dissapointed with that i mean its on the PS3 too.ArchDeathK
I would somewhat agree apart from the idea of the scale of the game. RE5 is so small in scale, with each area probably being a brief run (apart from the larger areas with airboats etc), and it's also full of loading screens.
However this does not detract from the game in the slightest, as it's still awesome

Killzone 2 has the better graphics. It is the best looking console game and the only game that will come close to it (soon) is Uncharted 2. Models are awesome, textures great, gameplay great, scale large = awesome, and animation is the best i have ever seen. You roll all of thattogether and you have yourselfatechnicalmasterpiece.... RE5looks great butnot Killzone great. The topic should be GeOW 2 vs RE5 now that is a comparable showdown and I think GeOW 2 is better in case your wondering.

Yeah, the 80% of the textures are fine. Like any other great game, the horribles ones are well hidden, you'll have to look pretty close to see them. On topic, i don't have RE5, the demo was great looking though, but KZ2 set the bar too high, it does not get any better than that. You can get better looking textures, better looking models in any other game, but the lighting effects, the wind effects, the particles, the sheer amount of things going on KZ2 is what make the game a graphical marvel.
talk about comparing the 2 best looking games this gen
RE5 is the only game that can really be compared to KZ2
both games have their strong points
BTW both RE5 and KZ2 got a 9.5 in graphics from IGN (GS doesn't give an individual score for graphics)
and no, the 360 looks better

My PS3 version doesn't look like that, in fact the textures look the same. I saw that pic, and I looked at the tires on my PS3 for a basic comparison and they matched. Also on Chris' shirt you can still see the textures quite well, unlike in that pic
That isn't accurate, the PS3 version does NOT look like that. Anyone who has played both games knows its the minor AA and frame rate differences, everything else is identical. As much as i love RE5, It has always been about character models, K2 does more, holds up better graphics all around and simply a technical beasts compared to any console game out right now. You can't just look at the characters models.talk about comparing the 2 best looking games this gen

Wow IGN even says KZ2's graphics sometimes surpassess the infamous E3 demo. If so then even my beloved Crysis will have to concede. Your thoughts?
