[QUOTE="Velocitas8"][QUOTE="cobrax75"]Im pretty sure I read somewhere that creatures would be evaluated by how much they were downloaded, Im not sure if that means automaticlly downloaded, or choosen by the player though.... cobrax75
Hmm, I think that's done on a per-user basis though. Content is automatically downloaded by the game as far as I know, and the game comes with some pre-made database of content, too.
The Spore (redirect?) servers categorize downloads of creatures, architecture and foliage by style. You can choose to exclude certain content styles from future downloads. I believe that's the major way that content is distributed to each user, but they could use popularity and such too.
I know that creatures, vehicals, and buildings that you create are automaticlly put into the datavase, but I dont know how it exacly works from then on, Im assuming that you can choose what you want to have introduced into your World.
I don't know that new content is introduced to your world automatically. Like a new tree with a style you've never seen on the world before won't pop up out of nowhere (I think.) I believe there's just an initial content population, when you first enter a world, pulled from other users randomly (it is an alien world after all, wouldn't be very alien if you knew exactly what was on it)..and you have the freedom to change the world as you please if your civilization is advanced enough.
One thing that might not follow that rule though is the invasion of other creatures, bringing their own new architecture and such. It'll be interesting to see how that works out :)
Edit: Oh, and I just remembered..you CAN trade specific content with other players via a "trading card" style system. You've probably seen it in previews, but it completely slipped my mind. I'd like some more info on that as well, hopefully they'll roll out some more previews soon.
