Which should I get it for? I don't really care whether I get Yoda or Vader. But the dilemma is:

For 360: My friends play 360 online, I can play with/talk to them
Achievements

For PS3: I personally prefer the playstation controller for fighting games
I kinda need another PS3 game, I've only had my PS3 for a week and own one game.

Right now I'm kinda leaning towards 360. Talk me out of it or tell me to do it!

i hear PS3 version looks slightly better....if an extra pixel or two matter to u

Also PS3 controller is better for fighters...this is undisputable.

I'll wait till I see how the online on the triple is before making a decision...but I'm leaning toward ps3 only because of controller.

I think I might wait and see if my friends who own the 360 are getting it, cause slightly better graphics doesn't matter that much to me (and I kinda prefer the 360's vivid colour scheme) but if they aren't, I might go ahead and get PS3.

Hands down PS3. Plus with the new Dualshock 3 to add some depth to the gameplay.

i would go with the one the majority of your friends are getting, multiplayer is the soul of any fighting game.

i use the joystick anyways, so even if i had a ps3...it woulden't matter to me, so i can't say on controler

i think the 360 works well for fighters, but the PS3 does look like it's more suitable. get the ones your friends are getting, though. since you're getting SC IV, it's a win-win situation

Good call. But online in fighting games is always pretty bad (just because you can't hit the other guy jokingly when he's button mashing). But, I'd also be able to talk to them online. And I'm a fan of achievements because me and my friend compete with those. I'M A-LEANIN' TOWARDS 360

well, your best bet for a stable online is w/ the 360...Plus, 99% of them have headsets...cant say the same about the ps3...

360 version, definately

it's better to play with friends, and you'll hopefully get used to the 360 controller

as for the yoda / vader thing, it's strongly rumoured that the 360 version will get vader as DLC .. there's a very compelling vid and screenshots to back up the rumour

I hope Vader comes as DLC.

And to all potential 360 SCIV owners: the achievements look pretty easy.

Knowing Namco, you can bet your ass it's going to cost money. And the PS3 version will obviously get Yoda as well ;)

360 also has rumble and ps3 doe snot. Regarding the special characters it has been show that on the 360 verison vadar is a hidden character, and on the ps3 verison yoda is no where to be seen. It seem the 360 verison is more complete. But if u want to get into your ps3 i suggest getting it for that system.

If I didn't own either system and was going to buy whatever system I wanted this game for. It would be the PS3. It looks better and has Vader.

Sorry but there are already more than 440 players in Soul calibur 4 in the PS3 version, though the servers are closed, the rankings are not.

Or ask the people who already have it. I do great game by the way, Vader has some really amazing combos, but The Apprentice is faster and can use the lightning at long distance as well as from the air. The bad thing is that the apprentice uses more Force than Vader, and normally you run out of force after 2 uses.

By the way, the secret character that uses all the Joke weapons is called Elie and is a girl in a cat suit (you can fight her in the lvl 5 descencion of the Tower of Souls) but I havent unlocked her yet. The character creation was given a boost, and its much better than in the 3rd one, and the addition of skills allow the creation of several deviations of the same s.tyle.

I played with Yoda the other day (underground copy) and he is really good. He lacks powerful Force moves compared to Vader, but makes up with speed. He is also almost un catchable, which makes it look more like a cheap character and he can only be hits with low hits or falling hits. Most of his movement is based as usual in small jumps moving the sword while he does it. Imo, the Choke Hold is a much better move and cooler than Yodas grabs (The 1up review for some weird reason said that the choke hold is not in the game, but it is. Its the second grab (triangle+ defense) and then (triangle+ square)

doa, 1,2,3 and 4 all say high. i also has the SC2 on gamecube and xbox 1 and ps2 back in the day because i got them given to from friends LOL! i found the gamecube controller actually was decent for the game and i then tired the game with the dualshock and xbox s controller. The 360 controller i find is no better or worse then the dual shock 3 controller for fighting games. Yes i have vitrua fighter 5 on my ps3, but i also rented for the online on my 360. It felt no better no worse, its up to preference, which in your case is bias. For shooters tho i'd say 360 controller wins just because the triggers on the ps3 controller feels add-on as an after thought.

But no, tell me why is the dual shock/six axis better?

Better directional pad, which is a must for fighting games.

Short of arcade sticks that is.

For your 360 without a doubt. You have more friends with 360s, so it's good to play together. Also you get Achievements out of the box and every now and then Xbox LIVE have contests like Play and Win, where on a specific date they'll have a SCIV gaming night and you could win prizes just by playing and winning online.

oh k, cool thank you for someone answering.

But i'd say no, they are the same, it matters how a person wants to move there hands and many ppl prefer 360 controller over the ps3 controller and others prefer the ps3 one over the 360 one.

anyways, this is kinda a dumb argument eh? yeah, it slike arguing over which console has bette graphics, dumb arguin because its always up to prefrences! lol

Duckyindiana

If I didn't own either system and was going to buy whatever system I wanted this game for. It would be the PS3. It looks better and has Vader.

IMO i think Yoda will be the more interesting to play out the two.

That's not a surprise. I mean not everybody can like Vader more. It was bound to happen.

I don't follow. My friends can't be online with the PS3? I haven't really kept up on this game because I decided long ago that I was going to get it, so I stopped keeping up. Are you telling me the 360 can go online, but the PS3 version can't?

PS3 version.

I want to buy a hori stick, but I haven't got the money :(

And like i predicted, Yoda and Vader will become DLC later on. Who really likes Soul Calibur cares about these guest characters, we all know they are for drawing in "casuals".

to the TC: buy the version that your friends will get, make sure all your friends get the same version.

It's a rumor for now, but trust me. Namco will release these two characters as DLC.

Why. They would lose sales because there are people like me that would buy both versions for the exclusive characters. The thing about each game is that they have a unique character which makes it more appealing to different gamers. This is just a rumor too. I would believe that if they were going to put Vader and Yoda as downloadable content then they would have said it by now.

I bet they're on the disc, and we'll have to PAY to get them unlocked.

I'm not saying the DLC is coming the same day as the launch, but expect it to come like 1-2 months after launch (thats when the sales starts to diminish)

No, they won't say it. For the same reason you stated, it is bad for sales.
