PS3 version.
I want to buy a hori stick, but I haven't got the money :(
And like i predicted, Yoda and Vader will become DLC later on. Who really likes Soul Calibur cares about these guest characters, we all know they are for drawing in "casuals".
to the TC: buy the version that your friends will get, make sure all your friends get the same version.
Krigon
Im a fan of the series since 2, and let me tell you that this guest characters are great. They dont unbalance the game at all. You will see when you try, the only one thats bothersome is Yoda, but he is only in the Arcade mode while you play as the Apprentice.
Hands down PS3. Plus with the new Dualshock 3 to add some depth to the gameplay. envybianchips3 version doesnt have rumble
First off anyone who is comparing the versions based on controllers needs to accept the fact that the controller is an inferior form of control for fighting games. Get an Arcade Stick.
Second. As of now I'm leaning towards the PS3 version as my Custom X-Arcade Dual is a far superior Arcade Stick to the Hori EX2. Plus its a dual and the Hori is a single so I'd have to buy another Hori EX2.
Vader looks to play like crap. But regardless of which I'm going for the most superior form of control and I can't get that on my 360 thanks to their controller lockout.
Soul Calibur 4 isn't coming to Dreamcast or XBLA man.Blackbond

Foxhound I've watched you post this comment dozens of times and I'm 6'4. I don't understand why you choose to make your judgement on this game so early.

You say that as if the general public(or the people in this thread) will go out and get an arcade stick for one fighting game, which is highly doubtful, so therefore you must choose which controller you believe is better suited for fighting games, the ps3's, or 360's. The answer? Ps3 by a mile.
Me personally will be using my Hori EX2 on the 360.

If you have the option to choose which version you are getting meaning that you have both systems 360 and PS3 I'm sure you are able to get an Arcade Stick if you wanted one. Regardless of which there is no point in complaining about controllers when superior forms of control are out there and exist.
Easily the ps3, what was MS thinking when they made that controller...completely horribad for fighting games.ice144
It's called a Hori EX2 joystick. :|

No controller is ideal for every genre. The Dualshock has its downsides too.

O it has its downsides sure, but unlike the 360's standard controller you don't have to pray everytime you use the d-pad that it'll do what you wanted it to do.

Neither version has it. Why? Im betting that because the game shouldnt be out yet, and that maybe on the first or second week, we will receive the update for it.
Why do people care about rumble in a fighting game? Um I'm not trying to have my controller vibrating when I'm trying to perform complex moves ect.Blackbondits a nice feature I personally love rumble in fighting games different strokes for different folks. To me it adds more to the gameplay.

and in Soul Calibur IV's case, rumble would've worked nicely with the soul charge moves, critical finishes, armor breaks, and the background itself, since the ground breaks away or objects shatter if you throw your opponent into them. It would've been a nice touch.
a shame really.

My Arcade Sticks do not support Rumble. Do any of them?
