I am just going to sumup my point with 2 questions...

You see the ugliest person in the world, how would you react?

You here the worst singer in the world, how would you react?

Me personally, I can play games with horrible graphics but i can barely stand horrible sound. If the voice acting is horrible or the music is just plain annoying I'll just turn off the system. Everyone I know reacts more towards horrible sounds rather tham horrible looks. Discuss.

That's a pretty terrible analogy.

Anyway, do you mean sound quality? Or music and voice acting? I'm assuming you don't mean quality. I kind of agree with you, most of the best games I've ever played have had amazing sound (FFVII, MGS spring to mind) but I think bad graphics...well, graphics not up to normal standards, can ruin a games atmosphere much more than bad sound.

Bad sound won't destroy a game, but good sound can make it extremely memorable.

Sound is very important. In fact I only realised how important recently when editing a short film. You watch a scary film with the sound off and you will probably laugh at how lame it looks.

Graphics AND sound both play equally important roles for me. Good sound quality but poor graphics wouldn't be appealing. Same idea when sound quality is lacking. Both elements balance each other out.

Visuals are obviously important, i dont think many people would deny it, but i think sometimes visuals importance is overstated and sounds is overlooked.

In fact, when you hear a little sound clip, song, sound effect or whatever from a game you played a long time ago and really love it really brings the reminiscent feeling, looking at a screenshot doesnt really do that.

Sound is 50% and visuals are 50%
