Any news on it lately?
Anyone still thinks this will work?
I was really hyped for it when I first heard about it, but now I'm not so sure.

I heard it was a scam, but as of now, I'm saying vaporware.x360ownaThe dude that created Quicktime, and WebTV is the one who started OnLive. I doubt it's a scam. I'm just wondering if they ran into major problems.
Oh Onlive is definitely a scam no doubt, the question is was it a legit scam? I think it was therefore I'm sure we haven't seen the last of it yet unfortunately. They were probably expecting more enthusiasm and support from the gaming community, what they got was a big NO THANKS so I guess they have retreated for the moment.
I still wonder what kind of computer power would they need to get crysis delivered to 10000 people simultaneously running at 720p max details at 30fps let alone 100000 peopleadamosmakiYeah I'm also wondering about that and how many times a year would they need to update their servers to cope with all that workload?I think they're gonna lose money on OnLive instead of making profits.
It looks as though OnLive will be at PAX.

They're listed as a sponsor.
I guess we'll see next week.
I heard the system became self-aware, murdered the developers and is now plotting to take over the world.ManicAce
Where is Sarah Connor when we need her
I get the impression that it is something the creators BELIEVE will be possible, but in reality it's just isn't feasible, nor will be for a LONG time, and these guys want their foot in the door.
Personally, I think it would take an incredible amount of funding and a super fast/super dependable Internet connection that most people just don't have.
And the fact it degrades the quality of the image when it has to, graphic whores won't stand for that, especially when currently they point out every single flaw of the console they hate.
I'm betting we'll see it soon enough. But I've always had major doubts on how well this service would work for the average consumer where bandwith varies greatly from ISP to ISP and even hour to hour, and where usage caps are increasingly becoming the norm. The worst thing is, if OnLive doesn't work as advertised for most when it releases, it will mar the entire concept for several years in consumers minds...
