Spare me the "nintendo has won" garbage, Wii is deceptively popular.

people can HOPE all they want that the Wii will actually get some good games. But look at the recent reviews for Wii. It's not looking so good. Let me see...... Heatseaker for Wii got a worse score than the PS2 version. Spiderman 3, Wii tied the PS2 for the worst of the worst. Bionicle Heroes was the same case. And to top it off the BEST rated game for the Wii is Warioware. It's just a bunch of minigames slapped together........ not very impressive.

The topic title says it all. Wii is DECEPTIVELY popular. In a few months PS3 and Xbox360 will both get a few more GREAT games, while Wii will continue to get fair, poor and mediocre games. and a majority of those games will NOT be new. they will be the worst classic games you never wanted. Double Dungeons anyone??

p.s. the only hope Wii has is the next mario game will sell like hotcakes. how exciting..zzzzzzzzzzzzz 

wii isnt competing with 360 and ps3. totally different demographics. totally different hardware capabilities. it cant win next gen because it really isnt next gen. its a secondary console. nintendo knew it couldnt compete with sony and microsoft, so they built and marketed it towards non-sony/ms customers. great business move, but quit acting like it is/will dominate next gen.

I bought the wii thinking there would be great games for it and so far all I have are zelda and spm 2 cube games brought over to the wii. The games are not what I thought they would be and the graphics look cube level all the way to n64 level. The sound is the worst part compared to  my ps3 and 360 games. I don't want to sell the wii as I will only get $125 for it but the lack of online and software combined with the high cost of dl games makes me wish I waited.

Right now to me the wii is a poor 2nd ok 3rd console and trash as you primary system. I hope nintendo brings the quality control dept back from Alaska to get the crappy ports under control. If you are a hardcore gamer don't buy the wii right now wait but casual gamers looking for a quick thrill on a low budget will like the wii.

I still see nothing to rebut my argument.  Prove to me that Nintendo is more than Mario/Zelda/Madden/mini-game rehashes just like it was last generation.  Only this time with a Wii-Mote.    Show me the terrific 3rd party exclusives that Sony, and lately Microsoft, have always been known for because that is how you win in the long term. :)The__MCP

In case you haven't noticed, developers are scurrying to develop games for the Wii. Sure, a lot of them are crap right now (hurried ports of PS2/360 games for the sake of putting out a game on the Wii), but that probably won't hold quite as true in the future. The Wii is killing the 360 and the PS3 in sales right now, and to 3rd party developers, that's a big deal. By the way, before the N64, Nintendo was the king of 3rd party exclusives, so just because they took a hiatus for a couple generations doesn't mean they can't come back. Let's see...Back in the SNES days, Nintendo dominated due to support from Capcom, Square, and their first party titles, among others. This generation, SquareEnix is already backing the DS fairly strongly (FFXII: Revenant Wings, Dragon Quest, FFIII, Chocobo Tales, etc.) and looking into the Wii, Capcom is re-releasing RE4 and creating a new Resident Evil for the Wii, and Nintendo is gearing up to release a bunch of huge 1st/2nd party games (Smash Bros., Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Party 8). Hell, Konami even put Snake into Smash Bros., because they want a piece of the action! This doesn't look like a re-hash of the Gamecube or N64 era; sorry to disappoint you...

In my country (Asian country) PS use to dominate the console market because of piracy now it doesnt. A poll was conducted in our local gaming mag Games Master and showed more than 11,000 weren't interested in PS3 at all. More than 200 are planning to buy the PS3. Thats because PC gaming rules here and the price of PS3. We're a poor country and PS3 costs $900 USD here. 

Yeah 900.00 buys a nice PC, and the PC does so much more, than play games.

nah...the wii has good games, but i'm just saying that i dislike both of those games mentioned.  I love mario party, zelda, star fox, smash brothers, that red steel games pretty good, and a few others.  Just because you like those games doesn't mean everyone thinks so.  The ps3 and xbox360 have their share of bad games, too.  And where did i say that it has no games in that post?  I do believe its selection isn't that big yet, which is pretty true, but hey neither does the ps3...which I don't know why i bought so early.  And by the way, by my logic, those two games suck :), not the system. 

So what the TC is saying is that when you don't count the good games, the Wii doesn't have good games....:roll:

Trauma Center is a SEQUAL to a very popular and extremely unique DS game, if it was a port then it would be the same game just with better graphics so you fail.

:lol: Funny, considering one of my fellow co-workers keeps a Wii locked up and we play it during down time at work. We have a blast playing Wii Sports and customers will come walking in wondering wtf we are doing playing video games behind the counter. I have a Wii myself and many of my friends also love playing it.

Er.. it has more games that are of higher quailty to play than the PS3 does. Half the scores on GS dont represent how good the games are either.

6.5 for DBZ:BT2? I admit, i hate DBZ, but its a friggin awesome game on the Wii.

Wii Sports is a great game for casuals, and hardcores alike. its something you just pop in and play.  

All i know is about this time in the last gen system wars wait and see the gamecube is gonna come out with mario metroid star fox and whatever else and its gonna prove itself and get back on top where it belongs and now at this point in this gen wars the ps3 fanboys are saying the exact same thing and facts are facts Sony decided to play catchup not only with money but great games and history has proven that u just cant do that or your gonna end up in last place

also remember unlike there competitors Nintendo makes money off its games the wii and the ds and so long as they try to bring new gamers into the mix while not excluding there hardcore audience they will be extremly profitable

Yes, actually during Gamecube(even though that doesnt make any sense) Nintendo made alot of mistakes. But they got it right with the DS and Wii. Just as "during ps2"(as you would say) Sony made all the right moves. And during ps3(once again as you would say) Sony failed to do what they did with the ps2.

Not to hark on you only, but why do people make statements like this.  Almost every sequal is a hehash of the previous title.  Guess what? Forza 2 is like Forza 1 with better graphic, and the new Socom (can't think of the name) will be like the previous Socom titles. So why is it wrong that Monkey Ball, which has all different levels and uses the controller to tilt the mazes (not possible on Gamecube), is a complete waste of money and ripping off consumers.  Guess what, it's not.  If people felt they were getting ripped off, they wouldn't buy the game in the first place.  If someone spends $50 on Monkey Ball it was because they wanted to.

Quit trying to make it sound like Nintendo is forcing people to buy games they don't want.  And just because a game is not in HD doesn't mean it's bad.  Odin Sphere for the PS2 is an amazing game and it has 2D graphics.

Fact: Ds didn't have any games it's first year either

  Actually there is quite a few games that are enjoyable that did rat ehigher then your posted score that is 3rd party..   That being said there is alot down the pipeline.. And if your like me you didn't get the GC meaning your missing tons of AAA games that are fantastic that you can go play now.. 

   The way I see it, both Xbox360 and the Wii are doing very well for them selves.. I am still very very skeptical on the PS3, it doesn't seem to embody any of the characteristics of the PS2..  Hell people tend to forget that PS2 was the weakest of the 3 systems in that gen yet it did great for it self due to the numerous games and easy hardware that devs could adapt to.

Your logic fails, because most of the games actually made by Nintendo are of an excellent quality.  It's the third party games that are ports and mini-games.  Besides, some companies (like Ubisoft) are already realizing that these games aren't going to sell as well as some solid AAs or AAAs.

I doubt it. there are still eople who claim the PSP can beat the DS. I'm guessing that it'll be at least 2008 before both the Wii and DS's success will be universally recognised 

I like some games of Wii, but I see PS3 about even to Wii now.

Super Paper Mario and Sonic are the only things that get Wii time.

I find Excite Truck to kill Motorstorm because I had alot more fun with it. I know Motorstorm is a better game, but Excite Truck is very fun.
