And NXGamer is the biggest Playstation fanboy around. Keeps claiming his shitty 2070 OC'd is equivalent to a 2070S as if every game responded the same to overclocking and Turing weren't garbage overlockers except the AIB models designed for it.

Yup. He DC'ed extremely hard when UC4 revealed the demo running at 30FPS while initially promising 60FPS. You can clearly see it when he's reviewing a Sony game and he never call them out on their downgrades.

He also botched the GoW PC port review and was clowned once DF's review came out.

Also RTX 3070 stomps all over the PS5..... PS5 GPU is slower than an AMD RX 6700xt..... A PS5 is more comparable to a OC'ed RTX 3060 or more closely a RX 6600xt. While RTX 3060 still handily beats PS5 in Raytracing. PS5 does 10.3 TFLOPS, AMD 6600xt does 10.6 TFLOPS, 6700xt does 13.2 TFLOPS. Other than those numbers pixel and texture fill rates between the PS5 and 6600xt, the 6600xt has slightly faster fill rates, only thing PS5 has going for it is a bit faster memory bandwidth.

Well not on Spider-Man it doesn't.I'm just stating how it deals with this game. AMD cards do not support RT yet on this game on PC( ironic since the PS5 uses AMD hardware). The 2070 gets torched by the PS5 in this game at least.

It does, nobody uses IGN for port reviews. Well, uneducated console gamers do, but nobody else does.

It doesn't. And NX-Gamer is actually pretty good. There's multiple head to heads out there. A 2070 isn't touching the PS5 on this. You can wait for DF to tell you the same thing.

NX gamer is not good, he's a joke. I made no claims about a 2070, a 3070 will stomp the PS5, you can wait for DF to tell you the same thing.

Derp ok. If a 2070 isn't touching the PS5 then a 3070 isn't stomping it. It may give you a slight advantage over the PS5 version but a 2070 and a 3060 were not able to match it.

This is incorrect..... PS5 does not handle the game no where near native 4k, nor without compromises.... The PS5 For RT modes uses upscaling, and dynamic texture resolution scaling using half resolution ray traced reflections with Fidelity RT at 30 fps. Then on performance RT the RT reflections are at 720p to reach 60 fps at 1440p still using upscaling and dynamic resolution texture scaling .

AMD 6000 series does support RT with this game..... A 6950xt getting 65 fps at max RT settings at 1440p..... with no upscaling nor dynamic scaling.... Even at 4k max settings RTX 3070 nearly gets 28 fps avg. And with 4k upscaling help from DLSS with max settings 40 fps with RTX 3070.

To suggest that RTX 3070 is dealing with Spiderman the same as the PS5 is just wishful thinking and so incorrect. Also to point out that a RTX 2060 max settings at 1440p is averaging 29 fps...... with no upscaling nor dynamic texture resolution scaling too. So actually PS5 is only performing slightly better than a RTX 2060. Its not torching a RTX 2070...... RT options kills the PS5

Sorry but you're wrong. In Fidelity mode Spider-Man on PS5 runs native 4k/40fps most the time it never drops to 1440p. With VRR enabled it's between 45 and 60 fps on fidelity mode. The RT settings are equivalent to the PC versions high settings with Ultra looking slightly cleaner. The PS5 version had two updates several months after release improving both the RT and frame rate of the PS5 version.

So how is the PS5 barely beating a 2060 when it runs significantly higher resolution and framerate at equal or better settings?

Wrong again Chief. The PS5 does not run the game at true native 4k.... there are three different options the Fidelity quality mode bumps this up to the target 4K output most of the time though dynamic resolution scaling is in effect and it can drop to near 1512p levels. In performance mode, the game targets a near 4K resolution but with more aggressive Dynamic screen resolution that results in drops to 1440p. Then you have 3rd Performance RT mode which targets 1440p internally upscales it 4k but again renders the RT at 720p not 1080p as in the original performance mode.

Also your taking into account that the GPU numbers I provided with max settings have no upscaling nor dynamic resolution scaling is being used at all, while PS5 is using them all the time. Now also need to note that shadows quality has also been improved over the PS5 version which is more taxing, adding to the performance hit.

The fact that the RTX 2060 is maxing the game at 1440p with no performance enhancing features running the RT at a higher resolution than original performance mode getting nearly 30 fps says alot on how poorly PS5 handles RT.

Microsoft and Sony going all in on becoming third party publishers is the best thing to come out of this latest generation.

It looks like you have a reading comprehension problem Let's try again.

On PS5, there are three different visual presentations offer: the quality mode bumps this up to a full native 4K output most of the time though dynamic resolution scaling is in effect and it can drop to near 1512p levels in the worst case.

4k " Most the Time" . What does that tell you? It's lowest drop " which is extremely rare" is still above 1440p. It's also running it between 45 and 60fps. You could reduce the RT settings to high on the 2060( PS5 equivalent) and it's not touching the PS5 version.

Reading comprehension? Naive 4k is nothing but 4k, no upscaling, no dynamic scaling etc.... the fact it drops any resolution lower than that and has fluctuating framerates means that the PS5 is not as strong as you think and there compromises done to get the PS5 to get those targets..... The fact that RTX 2060 is able to pull max settings at 1440p near 30 fps with none of the dynamic performance scaling features on says alot that you seem not to understand. Now with my original post I should clarified what I meant.... which was that RTX 2060 is doing RT better than the PS5, allowing it perform above its weight, for a mid ranged gpu that's four years old.

It's not doing anything better then the PS5. It's running at a significantly lower resolution and dropping below 30fps. If you use VRR the PS5 goes between 45 and 60fps at mostly 4k. It's Dynamic resolution hangs around 4k for the vast majority of the time.

If anything is punching above it's weight it's the PS5. Even the Ultra Raytracing isn't significantly shaper on PC so it's most likely downscaling the reflections as well.

"The settings menu is robust, with scalability beyond PlayStation 5 varying according to the specific visual feature. Anisotropic filtering on PS5 is similar to PC's 4x setting, meaning that the additional 8x and 16x options are welcome, while the ability to use DLSS and DLAA offers improved image quality over the console release. On top of this, there's less pop-in near the camera while LOD settings also offer some marginal improvements over the PlayStation experience. Meanwhile, shadows maps are of a higher resolution, though the difference against console is fairly minimal. Ray tracing gets a significant boost: full resolution vs half-res if you want it, higher quality reflections generally, along with more objects in those reflections both close-up and at a distance."

It's stupid that game this old will still require those buying it on PC to pony up more cash for Miles Morales. For $60 that should all be included.

With the lack of PS5 supplies not meeting demands, you should be thanking us PC gamers supporting Sony's exclusives making profits. Now, if you excuse me, I am off to go enjoy this port of a game with my almighty RTX 3070 Ti thank you!

lol the damage control coming from sony fans is so funny. glad Sony thinks their fans aren't good enough for them, hence bringing their exclusives to PC. More sony fanboy tears please.

@silentchief: Yeah, so the reflections look like shit on PS5. The game was patched on PC, not on PS5. What are you even talking about?

Looks like it unlocked early. Did another download for me and is now playable after saying I had around two hours left.

The PS5 reflections are about equivalent to the PC high RT. The PC's Ultra reflections are what is shown in that picture. The Ultra reflections on PC had an issue till the patch.

Regardless good luck running those reflections on anything under a 3080.

Let's wait and see what Digital Foundry finds out with what low, medium and high settings you will have to use to match the PS5's multiple presets. PS5 had to make compromises that Sony fan boys can't fathom.

Don't have to wait long.

PS5's raytracing is absolute dogcrap in this game.

The reflections on PS5 look like shit. And the AF is only 4x on Performance Mode and 8x in Fidelity Mode whereas it's basically free on PC. You also blatantly lied by saying the reflections on Ultra on PC aren't significantly better. They look far better.

Seems you can get reasonably close with an RTX 2060S and probably right on par with a 2070/S. Still a good showing for PS though considering that it was even with an RTX 2060 in WD Legions using RT.

No you don't. Jesus christ.

A 2060s on his optimized settings is running almost identical settings to performance RT and is about 40fps off. Stop lying for **** sake. People forget performance RT on PS5 runs between 100 and 120 fps with VRR.

They are identical to PC version high settings according to DF. I told you they patched the Ultra settings on PC the day of release. Regardless a I was correct a 2060 or 2070 isn't even close.

Lol no they didn't. They ran Ultra RT on a 3090 and a 2060s wasn't even close.

Yep, 2070s seems like the PS5 sweet spot for now. Another patch or 2 will change that.

What are you talking about? He used an RTX 2060S with High RT at 1440p and got a mostly locked 60fps just like on PS5 Performance Mode. They both use DRS except PS5's DRS is more aggressive and drops to select resolutions to meet its target frame rate.

A 3070 is like 60% faster than a 2060S.

Performance RT on PS5 can go up to 120 fps it averages in the 80s.. Getting a mostly locked 60 when the PS5 blows past 60? How is that the equivalent?

I do not like this game very much, maybe I do not like such games very much, but I like graphics and other things very much, but this is only my opinion
