Spike's Video Game Awards last night...

should've been called the Sony Video Game Awards.

hosted at Sony Studios. Uncharted mentioned every other sentence.

360's Gears of War not included. even when Arkham City won Action Game they just kind of whispered, "also got 360 game of the year", as the recipient was walking throught the crowd.

and THE WITCHER 2 NEVER EVEN MENTIONED! i'm surprised Diablo III got an ad in anywhere.

i watched the first one and it was all MADDEN MADDEN MADDEN! and now some WRASSLIN!!!!

i never watched another after that.

Sony fanboys will say the VGA's are legit except for Skyrim getting Goty because they have the worst version of the game.

Well Spike TV as a whole is pretty stupid, but I guess it was alright. I love Skyrim but I don't really think it should get GOTY due to some bugs that Bethesda didn't fix, the game isn't broken or anything like that mind you (at least in my experinece) but still some of the bugs I did see are kinda rediculous and I can't belive Bethesda didn't catch them.

Personally I thought GOTY should have gone to Batman Arkham City or Uncharted 3

That scene you posted is kind of cool, but that sword should cut those soldiers in half in one swing, and the soldiers were taking multiple hits and not dying in the video.

This is being developed by Platinum Games. The same studio that had Sam Gideon transform into a power drill and spin around to kill a gigantic robot and had Bayonetta summon demons from her hair and uppercutted the final boss across the universe into the sun.

Nothing is supposed to make perfect sense or be taken seriously. Its all just supposed to be fun. Their games have very little story and focus almosty purely on satisfying gameplay. This game doesn't seem to deviate from that at all.

I kind of have the feeling that you will use the right analog to cut where you want to when it goes into that focused camera mode. If it ends up having PS Move/Kinect incorporation it would be kind of cool to use those to cut the enemies up

did I miss Gears of War 3 being mentioned at the awards? as I flipped back n forth I didn't even hear a whisper.

I don't even play consoles and I know GoW3 is better than the PS3 garbage from my short runs on friends systems.

know The Witcher 2 had some of the best graphics yet to date and had awesome gameplay and story but...Sony/SpikeTV doesn't like the PC?

guess it's inevitable though when the show was hosted by Sony Studios. that just seems kind of wrong. what would people think if it was hosted by Apple or Microsoft?

Uncharted was mentioned as much as the other GOTY nominees.

Forza 4 won one award. Uncharted 3 won one award (outside of the platform exclusive award). One PS3 exclusive title was announced. One 360 exclusive title was shown. One PC exclusive was revealed.The Diablo 3 clip was Sony bias at work, clearly.

And I ask again: What 360 or PC exclusives won anything? besides Forza 4. all the racing games i've played this passed year or 2 have been about the same with slightly different cars and tracks so i tend not to acknowledge those.

Still have many better titles out there than what won. Like it was teenyboppers or voting. What about...

I couldn't stand to watch too much of the in-between dialog because of the retarded "humor" so may have missed some.

I was going to give them a chance. First they announce that Portal 2 wins best multiplayer, and im like, Huh? its only a short 2 player co-op, but whatever. It was good. Then came the best graphics award and the nominations were awful. Its like they eliminated all competition just to give it to Uncharted. (no Witcher 2? NO BF3? No Gears 3?)

Then the best shooter award left me with absolutely no respect for these awards. They gave best shooter to Cod, over BF3, Gears 3, AND Rage. IMO BF3 & Gears should have been the only nominees worth giving the award. I mean, I like MW3, but with no new game mechanics, no graphical update, no audio update, and 2 new game modes and a few guns, How the F*** did it win?

I rest my case. VGA's are a complete joke. The only award I could agree with was GOTY, and Skyrim was my 2nd choice.

I thought the reveals themselves where good.

It was less shooters in general... or at least less focus in shooting elements within the games such as the new ND game, Fortnite, MGR, Generals 2.

Heck even better than E3's blockbuster publishers that revealed shooters after shooters.

I wish Nintendo was involved :P, like with reveals and stuff. Can't wait to see Retro's Wii U game.

I also suspect that the only reason SS was nominated was because Zelda won hall of fame as well as to appease Nintendo fans.

I mean Gertsman and Shane (VGA jury members) made it clear that they didn't think SS should be amongst the top 5 on bonus round.

Disagree with the awards all you want, but crying bias when the majority of awards went to multiplatform games doesn't make sense. The VGA was many things, but biased wasn't one of them.
